Hi all!

Wanted to start a thread where everyone can chip in their favourite reads. Y'know that time when you're on the underground, waiting in airport lounge or just need some perspective.

I'll kick off with two books that have been thoroughly read time and again.

How to DJ properly by Broughton & Brewster

This is the book I started with, a reference, an enjoyable read with loads of information about technique. Aimed mainly at vinyl DJ's it still is relevent for new Mixmeisters learning the art, craft and science of DJ'ing.

The second book, by [strangely] the same authors is called Last night a DJ saved my life. A great read for a historic perspective in both the UK and US.

I'm definitely gonna have to vouch for both of those books that OB posted. I own both.

"We are dealing with the best-educated generation in history. But they've got a brain dressed up with nowhere to go." -Timothy Leary
"Let us admit, that we have attended parties where for one brief night a republic of gratified desires was attained. Shall we not confess that the politics of that night have more reality and force for us than say, the enitre U.S. government?"
-Hakim Bey

The one book I really enjoyed (in addition to the above) is

Will Pop It Itself

A book about the origins of sampling, and it's effect over the decades.

A nice book about DJ scene from the 80's onwards (very UK DJ oriented). Written by Dom Philips of Mixmag fame. Added to my Amazon shopping basket Headphones
