Hi,
I just tried to export a mix and got a message back saying errors - insufficient disk space or disk errors. I've a huge amount of disk space 500 gig external drive. I've never had a problem exporting, in fact exported two days ago and this just came up today. Any suggestions? Thanks! EuroD |

You're not really giving much info ... what size was your mix -- how many tracks, what's the total mix time, do you use wav files or mp3 files or what?
How much free space on your C drive -- that's where the processing for exporting the mix gets done, not on your external hard drive -- so your free space there is irrelevant. When was the last time you defragged your system? This doesn't really sound like a MixMeister problem -- it sounds like a PC problem. I got something for your mind, your body and your soul. |

The error response from your system here (if your drive is NOT full)
Is a core response error from your operating system pointing to a problem with your hard disk drive. The drive may be failing or your may have a bad USB connection to the disk itself (bad or loosely connected USB cable or slow USB port--an older 1.1 USB connection connection port on your PC vs. modern 2.0 USB connection may also be too slow. You should have your USB drive connected to a 2.0 USB port). You should run diagnostics on your disk drive with the appropriate diagnostics from your disk drive manufacturer to make sure that a core failure of the drive is not in progress. Let me assure you, it does not matter if this is a brand new drive. Initial drive failure rates for new disk drives average up to 1% across-the-board for almost all industry drives. This means that for every one million drives manufactured by a given vendor, 10,000 of them will fail early (and among these 1% most will fail within the first few weeks to six months or so). A USB disk drive is a regular SATA or IDE drive contained within a box that interfaces it to your system via its external enclosure's USB interface. It is a standard hard disk drive just like the ones internal to a PC. BACK UP YOUR DATA FROM THAT DISK NOW!!!!, and then download the appropriate disk diagnostic tools from your drive manufacturers and use them to scan your drive for defects. Thanks!
