Hi there, was wondering if there is anyway of exporting track markers and track id tags when converting to mp3 files. I would love it if i could see the artist and tracks 1 2 3 etc on car stereo cd player etc. Is this possible guys?
Thanks Beatkeer MM fusion 7.2.2.0 |

Hello Beatkeeper,
At this time, there is no way to do that. I know, i wish it could be done too. What i do is, Export as .wav,at markers so it can have the correct tracking. Then i burn that to CD. Then i use EAC/LAME to rip that CD. Once i Rip it, i rename the tracks/title and then reburn it. I know, its a long way around, but it works. I know there has been many talks about upgrading the Burning software,so, maybe one day it will do that, but as of now, it doesnt. Sorry. |

Thanks for getting back so quick, yeah it's seems a pity they havent thought of this one. Do i just add label markers at mix points of my mix an MM will recodnise this as a track?

Yea, now the trick here is to add the marker at the "END" of the track. So, when you have your first mix on line 1, then you mix the second track on line 2, and so on. Make sure you put your marker at the END of the track you are mixing out of.
If you put it at the beginning of the track you are mixing in, then you will cut of the first track. Does that make sense? |

i always put my markers at the beginning of the transition beginning with track 2. just remember to NOT put any marker within the first track. mixmeister will recognize the first track as track 1... when it gets to the label marker inserted at the beginning of track 2, mixmeister will see that and split the track at that point (with track 1 still playing). also, i never use markers on overlays. so, i always start my first marker at the beginning of track 2. but of course i guess this all boils down to personal preference. while listening to a cd i have burned (or any other mixed cd for that matter), at times i simply want to skip to the 'transition' rather than skip and rewind to hear it. i'm sure it is the same with a lot of people... much work is put into creating dynamic transitions, why would you not want the tracks to 'begin' at the transition mark? once burned to a cd, anyone listening will not enjoy the hard work you've put in if they happen to skip tracks (unless they rewind at the beginning of each track). i hope that helps. by the way, here is a quote from MM_Aaron on how he suggests markers be used...

From that screenshot, the markers are at the END of the song, and that is the correct way. If you put them at the begining of the song, you are goign to run into problems.
I guess i could of worded it better. Like Aaron says ,,"put your markers at the END of the outgoing track" |

I tried both,
When i put it at the beginning of the first track, it skips to track 2 after a few seconds. If i skip the first track, and add it to the start of track 2, then the first track plays but the name is track two. If i put it at the end of the outgoign 1st track, then repeat at the end of each outgoign track, it works perfect. I played with this for about 2 months. |

So that's what is happening! Plur, like you, I have put label markers at the beginning of the tracks, starting with track two. There are no problems doing it that way, unless you rip the CD into iTunes or whatever... THEN you see what D-MIXX has described:
In other words, all the tracks are ripped successfully, but the file titles are shifted, resulting in the files being misnamed. I've observed what D-MIXX describes but never made the connection to the label markers. Seems obvious now, though. To sum up (as I understand it), you can insert label markers at the beginning of tracks (skipping the first track) and the CD will play with no observable problems. You'll only notice the problem when the CD is ripped and the filenames are wrong. Thanks, D-MIXX, for explaining something I've noticed, but never took the time to investigate! |
