My suggestion: Create an option to delete automatically all played tracks from the playlist.Again, one or two seconds in a live situation means a lot, and we loose much time reseting the performance position and selecting all tracks to be deleted. For studio use it is ok, but for live use things are different.

Why do you need to delete them E?

I get the time issue that you were talking about, but I don't understand why you need to delete played tunes from the playlist, why not just leave them there & add to it as you go along?

Thanks Wildr for responding.

I edited my post because of a mistake I did.

First of all I would like to say that I am enjoying Fusion very much for real live use.

Sorry, but I can not remember exactly what I was doing and why I had to delete all tracks from the playlist. What I can remember is that doing so, I resolved the problem I was experiencing. I will try to reproduce the problem and will let you know.

Hi Wildr,

I like to work with Fusion in real live situations in the traditional Party/Wedding DJ Mixer-Style control, using 2 strips only and the BCF-2000 Fader 1 and Fader 2 to control strip volume and two buttons to control MixNow and MixNow Performance. In a short period of time I will be assigning more controls.

I would like to see only 2 strips in the timeline to avoid the problem I had in my last party.

Problem: I added 3 tracks to the playlist that was empty. I started playing the first track and then I used MixNow Performance. Then, in the middle of the second track I used again MixNow Performance and the first track started playing in the background together with the third track.

To avoid the problem I need to delete part of the first track in the timeline, or delete if from the playlist (better). That’s why I m suggesting an option to delete played tracks from the playlist automatically. I think this would be great to make the work easier for some party and wedding DJs, used to work in the traditional DJ Mixer-Style.

Why don't you just set the timeline to view 2 strips? Problem solved.

Although it would be nice if Fusion remembered your default setting.

My mistake. Please, read: I would like to see only 2 TRACKS in the timeline ....

I always set the timeline to view two strips.

I am enjoying very much Fusion/BCF, but maybe I am not using Fusion the right way yet.

The best and safest way I found to use Fusion/BCF in my parties, is working with 2 strips and two tracks only in the timeline, always deleting the played track immediately from the playlist. Doing so, I do not have the problem of 2 tracks playing at the same time after using MixNow Performance as I have already explained.

Hope you understand now why I would like to have the option to delete all played tracks automatically from the playlist ? How about this Aaron ?

This would be great for those who also like the traditional 2 deck way and have the BCF, and also prefer to see a timeline as clean as possible for LIVE use ONLY.

Also, if necessary during an emergency, it is faster to delete the only two tracks from the playlist just in front of you and start everything from zero, than asking Fusion to show the performed tracks, select and delete them.

Thanks

Elvert

E,

I now understand where you are coming from, however, is it not a benefit to be able to see what you've played previously? Y'know to prevent duplication/repitition & to help provide details of sequences that really pay off for your next gig(s)?

Another question if I may - are you only using the 'Mix Now function' to create your mixes?

If so why? Is it to 'keep it live', or because you are still learning the current interface?

If it's the latter, are there any specific points that are causing you headaches?

The reason I ask, is that I'm going to finally get around to some Video Tutes in the next month, so would like to (if possible) take some 'real world' issues and try to either solve them, or show a workround.

Thanks!

YES, IT IS ALWAYS A BENEFIT, BUT AT LEAST FOR NOW, WORKING IN A DIFFERENT WAY MAY BE BETTER FOR ME, I THINK.

I DID MORE TESTS AND CHANGED MY IDEA. I THINK THE BEST WAY FOR ME TO WORK LIVE IS REALLY USING TWO STRIPS AND VIEWING THE TIMELINE AS CLEAN AS POSSIBLE, WITH 2 TRACKS ONLY( FOR EXAMPLE), AND THAT IT IS NOT NECESSARY (SORRY !) TO HAVE THE PLAYED TRACKS IN THE PLAYLIST DELETED AUTOMATICALLY BY FUSION, I CAN DO THE JOB MANUALLY WITH NO PROBLEMS. NOW I THINK I AM THE ONLY PERSON THAT SHOULD DECIDE THE RIGHT MOMENT TO DELETE THE TRACK(S) FROM THE PLAYLIST AND NOT FUSION. THE RIGHT MOMENT FOR ME IS WHEN I FEEL THAT I NEED NO MORE TO PLAY ANY PART OF THE OUTGOING TRACK (LIKE USING LOOP .FOR EXAMPLE) TOGETHER WITH THE TRACK THAT HAS JUST STARTED TO PLAY

ALSO, I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT FOR STUDIO USE, IT IS OK FOR ME TO WORK WITH 4 STRIPS.

Another question if I may - are you only using the 'Mix Now function' to create your mixes?

NO, THANKS TO GOD, AARON AND THE TEAM, I CAN NOW CREATE MY MIXES VERY EASILY, CHOSING MY CUE POINTS VERY FAST. MOST OF THE TIMES THIS IS NOT NECESSARY AS YOU KNOW, BECAUSE FUSION DOES ALL THE WORK ALONE VERY WELL, BUT AS I DO NOT WANT TO “FORGET” THE WAY OF CUEING ( JUST JOKING !) , I ALWAYS CHOOSE MY CUE POINTS. OF COURSE SOMETIMES I USE THE EXCELLENT MIXNOW AND MIXNOW PERFORMANCE TOOLS TO CREATE MY MIXES.

THIS ISSUE IS CLOSED FOR ME, BUT ANY ADDITIONAL COMMENTS WILL ALWAYS BE APPRECIATED.

THANKS

Elvert.
Ps.Sorry my English. My language is Brazilian / Portuguese.

E - Your English is very good (particularly compared to my non-existent language skills - If it ain't english, I'm lost!).

Glad you've found a way to work that suits you!
