"When I Fall In Love," what a classic! This song deserves some historical perspective. It's been around since it was introduced as a love theme in the RKO Film, "One Minute To Zero" in 1952, and became a hit when Doris Day's original rendition went to #20 on the charts in the same year.

The song has been recorded by more famous recording artists than you can probably count including Day, Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole, Perry Como, Lena Horne, Dinah Washington, Celine Dion, Marilyn Monroe, Diane Schuur, etc., etc., etc.--probably over 100 artists to date. Probably the worst recording of the song that I ever heard was by Rick Astley on his "Whenever You Need Somebody" album (AKA Rick Ghastly -- that deep baritone with a few hits in the late 80s and the freakishly resonant and disturbing voice that made you feel like he was getting all inside your pants. All the more disturbing because he looked like he was about 12 years old at the time.)

This is an outstanding house rendition of the song--wonderfully interpretive, different and unique.

High praise indeed Tim, Neb...I'm glad you were both pleased with my labor of love. Wink

And thank you for the enlightening history lesson on the song Tim. Seeing the list of who's who that has covered this track is phenomenal (especially since I like all of those artists). Having this historical perspective makes me feel especially proud of having picked the perfect opening track for this set.

Well...you know what this means...back to the MM blender to crank out the tasty treats... DJ

Hey!

Have catched your set about 00:18.
AAAhhh! That is really a beautiful set as Kevin have said. So different from the other sets in Jack2it! Love it!

Greetings,

Holger / "DJ Mojito" / "Mojito".

P.S.: I´m not lazy this time. Working in a big tag - team at a fantastic party set and at a mix for "Beat consicious". Both nearly ready. Perhaps I do a new house - set than idea. But first one thing!

What more can be said - I listen to this while working but am going to treat myself to this and a glass of wine later, no work included.
