Note: This post was originally written to deal with a specific reproduceable problem with the submit tool for earlier versions of MM (Pro/Studio 3-6 and MM Express), however, since then I have also documented some problems with the Fusion/Studio7 tool--basically that tool will sometimes cause entire sections of track to not upload at all, leaving complete silence. All radio DJs should check the integrity of their sets utilizing the following procedure immediately following the upload, and then notify us if there is a problem.. Whereas we would love to be able to advance preview all of your sets all of the time, sometimes that just is not possible.
There is an inconsistently reproduceable problem with the DJ submit tool for Pro6 that I have now documented with myself and two other users on repeated occasions. Periodically, and not infrequently, the tool will mix out your set with the sprocket overlays and or other track overlays offset (beats not matched). In multi-loop overlays, it will also sometimes skip a loop in the mix-out process, and then offset the remainder of your loops. It is significant and frequent enough that you should always check your mixed set post-upload to verify that it is defect free. Here is how you do that:
If you determine that there is a problem with your mix, re-upload it with the same name, but an additional label--e.g. if your mix is called "Hotmix 1," name the second upload "Hotmix 1, ver.2" or similar, so the hosts are able to differentiate it within the radio server submission list. Check your subsequent uploads as well, although I have to date found that the 2nd upload is always defect free, for some reason. Follow the continued discussion here. Thanks!
