Through The Door (It's Hot At The Core) (Jazz/Tribal/Deep, 79 minutes)

This started as extracts from a 3-hour live set I made at a house party recently that worked really well.
I tweaked a few bits and added the last 3rd to keep the flow and feel of this set (the original live set digressed away into vocal + disco house .... and eventually into trance then techno at the demands of the party-goers ..... but enough of that .....)

This set starts off with some cool Jazzy/Funky tunes (to welcome you "Through The Door"), then soon heads off into hot Tribal realms for the bulk of the set (the "Core") before returning to a cooler and deeper vibe for the finale. Sort of a Tribal sandwich.

If you tune in, I hope you dig the vibe,

Neb.

Stylistically interesting, rhythmically diverse and interesting to match, harmonically excellent, mood enhancing, party pleasing, dance inciting. What the heck did they need the trance and techno for anyhoo?

So glad I live in Chicago. Trance is dead. Hip Hop is still niche and pure techno is around somewhere. No Breaks though, I could stand to hear a few more Breaks around here in the Windy City.

(not that I dislike any of these genres at all--well, there is one...)

oh? really? Trance is dead? I always thought Trance never really had a HUGE following here in the States, House and Techno make it too hard for it to gain momentum anywhere in clubs..unless its like Tiesto or Paul van Dyk or someone of the like who peforms..in which case, they usually Sell Out or fill up clubs..but hey, thats just me...

Trance is massive in the UK and Europe...House also, but Hard House is mainly played in the clubs.

For me, Trance ticks all the boxes.....but each to their own.

That was always the important difference between the States and Europe:
Someone has written that in the States songs must have more heart, in Europe they must be good produced!
Remember Euro - Dance, Rave and Techno. They have little heart, but they are well produced. This styles have many changes to climb up the charts in Europe. In the States they play only a little role.
Same is with Trance and Harddance. Here in Germany there were and there will be always a lot of fans from Trance and Harddance! Maybe the styles will change in future, but this electronic music will never die here. I´m sure!

Whoa!!! Trance is dead in Chicago. Elsewhere it's alive and kicking. Trance was never able to gain a strong presence here, and we only had a brief, but strong, flirtation with it here in the 90s.

Elsewhere, it's quite strong, particularly in various regions of the U.S. and, of course, all over Europe. I'm actually a big fan of Trance. It's my second favorite electronic genre.

You have to remember that Chicago is the birthplace of House music, so we have our prejudices, of course

I'm seeing the trance followers here in the states move back underground again. It's not as mainstream as it once was, which is not a bad thing in my opinion. It is still extremely popular, by a very dedicated fan base that will always enjoy it. It's just not as popular as it once was.
