How long is a piece of string?
Each plug-in does something different than the next. You might have a flanger plugin, and a reverb plugin. which one is better? it depends on what your doing. the flanger will do a great job at, well, flanging, and give terrible results if you're looking for reverb. what are you trying to do? |

What I mean is...I was looking at some new plugins to purchase...and I was wondering if anyone might have a word to say what the best brand is and what I should be looking for? I havent even started my first mix yet...but I want to be sure that when I do my first one its really nice. Are there any that you would recomend?

You should take a closer look at Fusion ... it comes with an entire slate of plug-ins: Ozone, NewBlue and Camelspace. You could spend hours ... days ... exploring these built-in effects.
Check the program Help file for further details. I got something for your mind, your body and your soul. |

Ok well thank you. I just wanted to make sure that the effects I do have will do a great mix and I won't have to purchase anymore. And if I do which ones I should be looking at by which brand.

can anyone recommend which plug in would help with the overall sound of MM, I tested live (1st time) last night and the sound from MM was very hollow.

Kjaerhus Classic Master Limiter - it not only limits the sound and prevent clipping, it also boosts the overall sound quality - best of all? It's free!
If you want to spend money, check out the Gold range also! R. |

A very interesting comment. Which leads to some questions: Hollow compared to what? On the same PC (i.e. same hardware/soundcard) what is the sound like when your source .WAVs/.MP3s/etc. are played through Media player (i.e. not MM)? Whats soundcard do you use? What are your source files? .WAVs, or 320kbps CBR .MP3s, etc? ....And probably many other pertinent questions, but I hope you catch my drift.... It would be interesting to see if the hollow sound is a MM issue, or something else. In any case, to find an answer to the fundamental question might help to find the best course of action. Neb. |
