wildr pointed me towards this plugin and it has had a remarkable effect on the sound my mp3s - boosting the sound of the quieter files and beefing it up as a whole - how does it work?

if anyone else hasn't tried it out yet, i strongly urge you to!

thanks wildr!

i edit down a lot of the mp3s i use and because i like to know the exact track legnth of my files i export them to file once i've edited them and use that as my main track (thanks mme fly for this tip!), but should i have the master limiter on when i choose 'export to file'? will the file sound weird when i replay it - esp if i have master limiter on the file in the playlist ? is it best to turn this plug in off when doing this or does it not matter?

Hi Siob,

It shouldn't affect the sound, you won't get a 'Double Limiter' effect.

What you'll get is the benefit of the limiter on the file you export, and then if you load that file into a Mix with the Limiter in use, it will just ensure that all tunes are at a similar level.

The beauty of VST FX is that you can chain them together, by this I mean you can apply more than one for example you can place a phase efect on a track and then apply a panning effect over top of that.
