Hey Spaceman,

Thanks for the post! Didn't realise that Paul Hardcastle had been that much of a hit elsewhere in the world!

let me know your thoughts on the rest of the mix if you get chance to catch it!

can't wait to hear it, Wildr! I'm still trying to get my 80's mix finished up... a few tracks are giving me fits in terms of finding something to mix with. I'm about to chuck 'em out and start anew LOL

I really enjoyed your mix on the MMRadio!!! You have given me a new lease on mixing. I had such a hard time doing DJ gigs with playing 80's hits from a playlist I made up the week before. How do you make a playlist that will be a hit at a party though?

Thanks Skizzraw,

Making up a playlist that'll be a hit is always difficult - I'm lucky in that I started by DJ career in the 80's and I'd been in and out of clubs since I was about 11 so I knew what worked and what doesn't!

Ideally, get an idea about the crowd you'll be playing to beforehand, see what tunes they like when other DJ's are playing.

Use MixMeisters tools to your benefit - load up a catalog of 80's stuff, sort it by bpm and keycode and then just play - always practice before you play out!

If you stock up on some prepared sequences containing hits from the 80s, chances are that these will be asked for, or appreciated by the crowd!

Hope that's some help!

Yeah *ahem* something like that.
More like dodgy clubs with even dodgier DJs is my memories.

This was great! Not a big fan of 80's stuff (due in part to previous comment Wink), but this mix was superb. Really well put together and kept me looking forward to what was coming next. It had that all-important "flow" throughout the set as well.

Nice one Mr. Wildr Big Grin

Hey Neb, thanks for your comments - as always it's nice to get feedback.

I totally enjoyed putting this together, and I've already completed Vol 2 for when this has to come down!

another masterful mix from the wildmeister.

loved the living in america trans Big Grin

the bad accapella was way to quite, perfectly placed, Big Grin just too damn quite, and a few trans killed the flow dead, not badly mixed mind, just from omph to fthp, (the one from living in america) being a prime example.
and there were a few after.
but mostly a quality blend of 80's yore.
and i'm gutted you used (i'm guessing the skip to my loops letters) as i was gonna unearth um.

Thanks Stilly,

I kinda like the transition from America to Caribeean Queen myself, and I actually toned down the Bad Acapella as it was too strong and overode the transition taking place behind it.

However, as Madame Fly has pointed out to me previously, what sounds balanced just right on my Burnt Cd, and lovely 5.1 speaker system, may not sound so good thru' headphone's or other speakers.

It's a problem that I don't think I can solve unfortunately, unless you all go out and buy exactly the same set up as me!

Big Grin

I really do appreciate you taking the time to cast an ear over my efforts, and yours (and the other posters) comments are taken on board whenever I go to throw a new one together!

Now That's What I Call An 80's Mix.

A heap of memory joggers, mixed tightly with some inventive use of samples (which is quickly becoming a Wildr trademark Smile).

Nice One.

Though I listened to this one and really enjoyed the set, I never got around to posting on it ... mea culpa!

In the meantime, as you will see on this other forum posting, Wildr's mix has been a great inspiration to me Wink I expect to be getting in this game myself, before too long Big Grin
