Here's a tag mix done between Complex and myself, and its definitely not for the weak-hearted Big Grin

We stuck our heads together and came up with some of the hardest trax you may ever dance to, all filled with pounding beats, screaming sythns, wicked riffs and of course, twisted distorted vocals. Sit back and enjoy the sweet, melodic sounds of Funker Vogt, Skinny Puppy, Combichrist, Front Line Assembly, Nitzer Ebb, and many more.

And of course, give us your 2 cents Wink

This has to be the most fun I have had making a mix. This is two very different styles and approaches to mixing. The wide range of music goes together so well it makes me wonder what the hell took so long for someone to do this. The master here is Phreaq, if you ever get a chance to work with him, TAKE IT! Enjoy!

And it's the first point in the mix where I'm not 100% enthusiastic (not sure why). But it has been an AWESOME ride up to now. My favorite set so far from MM Radio, and that's saying alot. Looking forward to seeing where this goes....

Want to go in a different direction by now. Technically it's perfect, but I guess it's just too hard for me. (laughing at myself as I realize I now have to count the fingers on THREE hands to see how many years its been since I shaved off my mohawk) Smile.

Hey Duro,

I'm glad you sort of liked it Big Grin

it certainly does have a hard sound to it, but I'm glad you stuck it out.

I DEFINITELY liked it, make no mistake. The mixing was sublime.

And its not really the hardness of it that distracted me, as I use a lot of hard tracks myself. It's more the...anger? I'm just not that angry, and my body was much, much happier banging to Corsten's "Punk" than to Skinny Puppy.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know I thought you two guys did a great job!

I know what you mean about the 'anger' side.

Its funny, I've seen Ferry live and I danced to "Punk", and in the same venue a year later, I danced to Skinny Puppy. very, very different crowd.

Yes, phreaq, EXACTLY. Different crowd, different dancing, whole different energy, vibe and feel. Exuberance versus annihilation.

Nowadays, when I'm in the mood for a monster track I'm much more likely to slap down something like Vitalic's La Rock....

Interesting conversation and observations here ... I can really relate to this comment of Duro's, it's a good expression of why I listen to the music I listen to now ...

Most of the anger I have left to manage has to do with dodos in the workplace and traffic ... and there just doesn't seem to be a lot of music dealing with that Wink

I got something for your mind, your body and your soul.

Techno is beyond sick. I absolutely love it. And I love techno with an industrial edge. But there's a line that's crossed somewhere where I start to lose intensity. I'm wondering if anyone can help me describe what I'm talking about, because I'd love to be able to explain it better.

It's completely in the dancing of it I think...as if dancing to music that's *too* angry makes me dance angry. And I'm just not that angry. There's something less angry but just as intense that makes you dance like you own the f*cking world. That's a great feeling to have when you are partying with your friends. It's definitely not house because it's less choreographed. And it's close to prog house, but there's just a bit of something *dirtier*...something electro. And it's got the *attitude* of tribal, but more complex. But it doesn't feel like you're also running a marathon, like trance (hey! I'm 33 and a smoker!). I think it must be techno.
