2 x 500 watt amplifier!
Concert speakers! Lighting console! Four coloured sound active light arm! Sound active DJ - cube! 170 Euro lending fee That was an awesome day for DJ Mojito! My wife Sabine has celebrated her 40th birthday with 45 people! So DJ Mojito has borrowed a well equipment for this dimension of festivity and he finally can play live! I have played parts of my mixes which I have loaded up here: - "Transatlantic party mix" - "Wow! Awesome crazy party beats!" - "Welcome 2008" - "Jumpstyle (no mercy)" - and with Mixmeister parts of my new house - mix... It will be ready soon, than I load it up! Mostly I have played admittedly with Atomix mp3. You can mix easier live with it than with Mixmeister Studio 7.2.2.: Good light show: What shall I play?: Vibe: We want to hear Evanescence? Who? Evanescence? Oh! I have two tracks from her! Play it soon!: We must make some vibe, Holger!! I help you!!!: Yeaaar: DJ Mojito will also dance after hours of work: All in all it was very hard to play for a audience between 6 and 70 Thank god some of the young female colleagues want to hear house and trance. I´m so glad about that !Overall it was a great live gig! Yeaaaar! This message has been edited. Last edited by: DJ Mojito, |

The "DJ Mojito" - writing glows awesome in blacklight!! Ryan, thanks a lot for your comment! I was very pleased about this! And your new "avatar" is great!! I mean it is more human when you can look at a face than at a avatar! Can I send a pic from me for the avatar, too Again: Thanks to you both. I was very pleased about your comments! Thanks Jez, the most people were ardent of our work, but there were also some constructive negative reviews. But this is always so when you do something: When you do anything there will be critique. Ardent -, constructive -, but also perhaps disappointed or even bad reviews! Look at a musician or a politician. The one says he / she is awesome, the next says he / she is awful! It is a matter of the taste and the attidude! Important is respect for each other! That´s it!
I have talked with Nebulus, and he means I need Fusion. But I think for this I need a faster PC with two sound - cards. Here in Soest there is a club where the DJ´s mix at a high level house, and also in Megaparc Soest they mix very good with programs, CD´s and turntables. I must be very good to pass a live - gig! And I need Fusion with two sound - cards for this! ATOMIX mp3 is not good enough for that! Mixmeister Studio 7.2.2. is for homeworkz, virtual DJ is also not good enough for that. What I need is a fast PC or laptop with Fusion and two sound - cards! That is pricy... How do you work Neb at your parties, I mean which PC do you use? This message has been edited. For fusion I would go with a laptop, and you would be ok with only one sound card. you can use the headphone jack of the laptop to cue. It'll get the job done.

Hey "sublime experiment",
I´m a perfectionist... You must know with fusion you can hear the transitions with the first sound card over your headphones b e f o r e your mix runs with the second sound card over the speakers! So you can create perfect transitions how you do it at home, but live!!!!! When you work only with one sound - card it is quasi luck when the transition is well. I have realize that at the party on saturday. And when you want to work with pros you must be very good... you must earn respect! Especial the DJ´s which swear by vinyl you must convince as a digital DJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But thanks for your comment, I appreciate that! And welcome here! Holger / "DJ Mojito" / "Mojito". |

Hey Holger, Ok ... my As sublime says, 1 soundcard would do. All (?) laptops/desktops come with a simple soundcard on the motherboard, so you can use that for previewing. A headphone amp might be a good idea so you have some better control on the preview volume. My current PC is a 2.5GHz Athlon running Win XP + M-Audio 2496 sound card + Fusion. It is on the absolute bottom-end of performance needed to run Fusion live, though. CPU usage is ok until I start to add effetcs (eg. Ozone), or pitch-shifting. It's still ok, but CPU usage gets to around 15-20% average. The real killer, though, is my BCF2000 connected via USB. Start waggling the faders/knobs around and BAMMM!!! CPU usage hits 100% and pops/stutters on the sound. No way would I ever use this setup in a "real" live setting such as a bar/club. OK, this PC has all the usual bloat (games/antivirus/firewalls/etc/etc) + 3-4 years-worth of "Winrot", so a complete rebuild would probably help, but even then it's not going to be perfect. I've just inherited a 3GHZ PII system (overclocked to 3.5GHz). I'm going to run this as a "music-only" PC. It has XP + M-Audio 2496 soundcard (taken from my other PC) + Fusion + nothing else. I'll see how this performs. I think my message is that you don't have to spend lots of money, but don't get too ambitious and expect too much from low-budget systems (like mine You've probably seen tepmix's very useful threads about PCs in the forums ... I suggest you balance my views here with those from a more "Pro" viewpoint. Like I said, it all depends on exactly what you want to do. Hope that helps, Neb. |

Thanks a lot for this Neb... currently I really think about buying a double turntable gear ... I have some money from my birthday. Yeaaar I was born at may, 26th! Sure it is good to mix with vinyl. Many DJ´s mix with vinyl, but also
with Traktor - Studio, Virtual DJ, ATOMIX mp3 or Mixmeister. At mixupload.com one DJ mean it is the optic aspekt: It looks better when a DJ mix with vinyl at turntables than a DJ who mix digital! And how the name tells you: DJ = Disc Jockey! It is the spirit of vinyl - mixing! When a house DJ mixes his vinyl it is great... He use 8 or 16 beat transitions in clubs or cuts to make the people dance... a digital mix is sure better, but a digital DJ has no shades till now. Perhaps one day a great artist makes digital mixing more popular... I hope he / she is coming one day... Thanks again Nebulus! |

I have thought about that it is so much fun to mix with MM. I don´t know if it is a good idea to buy a double turntable gear... when I really can play live for money than... don´t know... What do you all mean? This message has been edited. Last edited by: DJ Mojito, |
