Im still here. Im just busy cooking up a few more sets and playing Mortal Kombat on my PSP (its too addictive). Not sure about everyone else though. It is the summer so I guess some people are probably on holidays.

Incidently, ive been really getting into the show House M.D. Anyone else like it? Is it popular in the US?

Here too. What you want to chat about Wink
I'm up to my neck in painting/decorating/tidying/clearing. Just about finished a loft conversion, which has absorbed loads of time around builders/plumbers/electricians/etc.

Me and my wife, we work both, so it is always difficult to drive into a conjoint holiday with our son!

But today we do this for a few days! Only in the Sauerland, this is not so far away from us...

Here is the link to the thread about our last holiday!
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we might as well dance !!!

Dude, that is one of my FAVORITE shows on TV. Hugh Laurie is BRILLIANT (and so are the writers for the wicked dialog they give him). It's quite popular in certain parts of the US (it's a top rated show on Fox). Nice to see my fellows across the pond appreciating the little bit of quality we have to offer from TV land.

Yeah well there are some good American shows. Family Guy is one which instantly springs to mind but I also like The Simpsons (the earlier classic episodes), South Park, CSI & Criminal Minds. My girlfriend loves Ugly Betty but then it is kind of a girlie show. Irish TV shows are generally shite, unfortunately. The only good one about Ireland (Father Ted) was actually made by a British TV channel.

BTW the latest Scooter video for "Jumping All Over The World" is on MTV Dance. My god it is awful. Its like a Hardcore track mixed with traditional Irish dancing music. How on earth could anyone like that crap?

I've never seen the video or even heard the track ... didn't it make #1 in the UK billboard charts or something? For me, Scooter are a good reason to be embarrassed for being German Aargh! ... teuto-techno, not my thing at all!!!

For anyone who hasnt seen or heard the abomination of a track you can check it out here. It might at least give you a laugh.

Ummm...Sadly...I didn't think it was that god-awful...I used to listen to stuff that sounded a bit like that (obviously better but...), plus I was a big fan of Scooter back in the days...LOL

Well each to his own I guess. I know music doesnt necessarily have to be intelligent but lyrics like "every minute every hour got the power take a shower" just dont do it for me.

If you look at the user reviews on discogs.com you'll see that Scooter are actually a pretty divisive act. Basically most people either love them or hate them. Unfortunately im in the latter category but as I said before.. each to his own.

thanks for sharing that. i have never heard the entire track nor have i ever seen the video. gotta say that i think it's a catchy track. i didn't care so much for the lyrics, except for the chorus which kinda had the happy hardcore vibe.

and the jumpstyle dancing... i can respect that. with the countless styles of dance out there today, this probably ranks up there as one that take the most stamina. i for one with i had the energy to do that style of dance for 1 song let alone all night long at a party... or in this case, 'all over the world' Wink

when it comes to lyrical content, i have to admit that that is not high on my list of reasonings to like or enjoy a track. the music itself does it for me. for example, rap music... half the time i have no clue what those fools are saying. but if the music is satisfying my ears, then all is good.

flame on if you wish... but i don't think it's that bad of a track.

Actually all the jumping in that video reminded me of another one (Four Tet's You Were There For Me).

Anyway I can see ive insulted a few peoples musical tastes and for that I apologise. Maybe its time to chat about something other than Scooter Smile

Don't worry mate...I insult myself all the time (LOL). As you've said, to each his own (as far as taste).
