Hello to all. New to the Mixmeister scene, have the demo, and would be interested in some pros & cons in the full program, maybe Mix 4. I am fairly new to beatmixing, and would like to get some efficient software that doesn't take rocket science to work. I have used Cakewalk for live editing & mixing, but want to get more involved in recorded music mixing and editing. Thanks, DJ Dangerous

Hello Dangerous, welcome to the MixMeister forum! Big Grin

Even though it's barely a tip of the iceberg that I am going to offer you, I'd like for you to go ahead and read a summary of what other people think about MM! Here is the link.

If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to post some more questions! Big Grin

Much thanks Andre. A lot of good feedback and enthusiasm from the community. I posted that I have become very efficient with OtsJuke, mainly through the tech support and forums, and now using MM, I hope I will be able to become as productive with the help available here. MM seems like a very user friendly application, but I also feel a product is only as good as it's support. Looks like I may be OK.

Hi guys... Wink

Didn't know this forum existed...glad I found it.

My M8's on other forums are fed up with me banging on about MM, finally i've found like minded people.

Anyway....who am I?

I'm from Scotland, love music and football (soccer to Americans), I'm probably a wee bit older than most on the site...I remember the birth of Disco, Punk, House, Trance, Techno etc.

Glad to be here Big Grin

ps ...Am I the only Scot on the Board?

Laugh at the world, it deserves it......mixes at: www.themightycad.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk

Enjoy your stay here...you're with family now Big Grin

Hello everyone, DJ Mav here. I have been mixing since 1981 (clubs, mobile, some radio) in the SF Bay Area. Strictly vinyl until last week when I purchased this program.

Big learning curve but trying to stay with it. Program looks like it has a ton of interesting features.

Hobbies - Music, coach soccer, Music, coach basketball - Music, Music, Music and Music

Looking forward to mastering it and having some fun with it.

Where should I start? LOL There are so many stories, Studio West, Club 412, City Nights etc. etc. Man, that was fun.

To this day, I don't think there is and has been a club as elegant in it's look (inside) as Studio West.

Douglas, what IM do you use?

I'm on MSN allmixxedup@hotmail.com (don't send email there as I don't check it) and ICQ 106367432..

SW, 412, city nights.. you name it..

I was recently at City Nights (yep, a club that has been around for over a decade!)... it's has changed.

Dougie... are you from San Francisco? when i was growing up there, we had a club called City Nights in SoMa... it was around for quite awhile, and we'd be there 2 or 3 times a week... since i've been in NY, don't know about the club scene in SF anymore...

I'm from Colorado, but have traveled the planet searching for the perfect beat!

The City Nights I'm talking about is in down town San Fran.

IMHO - The club scene everywhere has changed for the worse, I don't enjoy them so much any more. Of all the clubs I’ve been to over the last 15 years, the best were in New Orleans, Fat City (Metairie)… They know (or knew) how to party in NO! I'd give Berlin the second place award for clubs..

What going on in NY these days? I do remember the Tunnel from years ago!

I can't believe, then, that it's the same City Nights!!! It was Echo Beach when we first started going (you didn't have to be 21) so, City Nights opened in 1985??? WOW!!! Eek is it still at 3rd and Howard???

the one club i miss in SF was the gay nights at 1015 Folsom in the early 90s... i remember hanging out in the subterranean dance area, where nobody liked to go because the music wasn't mainstream enough, and just getting lost in all the new sounds... ah, those were the days! Cool

i can't find a decent club here in NY... most try to play too much variety and i lose the feeling most times... Frown and the big clubs are too expensive anyway where the name-brand DJs spin, and even they are getting a little homogenous...

then again, maybe i'm being too much of a music snob... Roll Eyes

Most of the clubs in San Fran are owned by the same guy through a company called SFClubs San Fran Clubs.

I'm with you, I like my clubs playing the obscure underground dance traxx. Most of them play the same garbage you can hear on the radio!

I'm not gay, and don't have anything against gays, but I find the gay clubs to be the best!

What part of NY are you in?

Couldn't agree more. Studio West started out as a gay club and it was the perfect place to experiment with the different musical styles.

Heck, I remember when I threw down a "non gay nightclub" type of song into the mix, got looks for a few seconds and then the song and club blew up (White Lines was the song)

Dougie... even though i am gay, i used to frequent the "straight" clubs with my friends who wouldn't frequent the gay ones... whatever...we were all out for fun anyway... i was only ever able to get one of my straight friends out with me to 1015 and she was amazed that i would even THINK of dancing by myself, and couldn't understand that it wasn't just the act of dancing, it was the FEELING and the FREEDOM of experiencing all the new sounds they would work with down there...

i've always believed the gay clubs to be the best... and now, how else can you explain the number of straight people frequenting them these days? even the smaller dance venues here in the city... straight folks are catching on!!!
