Hi.
Was wondering why songs are not edited shorter. I hardly ever hear songs in a set where a very long song could have been edited down to 3 or 4 minutes. Having 20 songs in a 60 minute set at about 137 bpm would keep it moving along. Is there a legal problem with this ? Making a song about 3 minutes instead of 9 minutes.... would that be legal? or a remix issue of the original. |

There's no legal problem ... some folks just like the music they are working with enough to want to hear the whole track ... but plenty of other people do extreme MixMeister work -- the "All Mixxed Up" stream used to be all sets that were based on highly-edited tracks. It's a personal preference.
Since you already double-posted your question about editing in this other thread that's the place to look for a response ... I got something for your mind, your body and your soul. |

Hi everyone. I've been toying around with the demo version of Fusion for quite some time. And finally today, I went out to guitar center and grabbed a Mixmeister Control, which also had Fusion. I gotta say, I'm really loving it right now! The controller isn't totally perfect, but for the most part it does the job. Now I just need a case and hopefully after the controller feels like second nature, I can start playing at parties and whatnot.
Anyways! I hail from New York and currently go to a university upstate (Binghamton). I'm currently an apprentice radio DJ for WHRW 90.5 FM Binghamton that spins Dance/House/Trance (and sometimes remixes of contemporary mainstream songs of those genres) once a week. I'm pretty surprised that in most communities, MM is fairly obscure since most digital DJs that uses software uses VDJ, Traktor, etc. At the same time, I felt like I've found a hidden gem. |

Hello all! I wish I had the talent you guys do to mix/blend tracks as you do. I don't get out to the clubs anymore like in the 90's early 2000 when I was in college.
I'm from Tampa, Florida and partied in Ybor City for 10 years straight every weekend listening to the high energy break beats with vocals. The techno spots like Club1509 back in the day to the after hours clubs until the sun comes up. I feel like I am stuck in that time zone still. Tony Faline by far brought the most heat in those days IMO but looking for the same sounds with different flavors from the talent here. Sorry for the long intro. Love the old school high energy break beat w/vocals look'N for some fresh new breaks! |

Tony is a great Guy.I have done many shows with him and he is such a down to earth guy.
I know he use to Rock 1509. Sharaz is also a good freiend of mine. When he played Ampatheater, he brought the heat. Firestone was also the place to be back in the day around there. Welcome to the boards and take a listen to RAF when you get a change. You will hear alot of tracks you should enjoy. |

Thanks D-MIXX...This forum sure is friendly. I belong to another forum in an unrelated subject and they are a rough crowd to get in with. Anyway, I did Ampatheater for years after as well. Firestone in Orlando. D-MIXX do you do shows in Ybor or Channel Side or Hyde Park? I haven't been out in about 5 years to these places so I apologize for not knowing... I love Sharaz, Baby Anne, Huda Hudia, Santana, Mondo, Fixx, Icey and Brad Smith to name a few I follow. Club1509 was an incredible place while it was happening..lines around the block, vip upstairs (A few D.E.A raids every now and then. Ha!) and then the night gets going pretty good until either 12:00 or 1:00a.m every Saturday night. (I can't remember) Then at 1:00a.m Tony Faline would come on and just blow the roof off that place. I did have a question about listening to RAF? I was reading around trying to learn how to use it w/o asking a newbie question but is there a section on the forum where I can learn how to use it? I read "listening instructions" but can you pick and choose what to listen to? Or just what is online at the time? Thanks for the warm welcome also. Much appreciated. This message has been edited. You can pick any station to listen to but as far as what mix, you can hear just whatever is streaming at the time ... which makes it just like regular radio .... I got something for your mind, your body and your soul. |
