A belated introduction...

Hi, everyone. As the title says, this is a way overdue hello message. I've been lurking for almost a year now, and recently had a set posted on Jack2It. Nevertheless, I wanted to introduce myself to the forum.

My love of dance music goes quite a way back. I remember that my parents had to buy a second 8-track of the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack for me because the first one broke from overuse! Shame So I think that's where this little love affair began.

Fast-forward to the early nineties and I started going to clubs. This was in Knoxville, TN. The dj's mixing skills never were that good -- there was that inevitable "shoes in the dryer" sound about once every half hour. But the music itself was great! After about a decade of clubbing (and a move to Atlanta), I decided that I wanted to try my hand at this dj thing. So I bought a mixer and two CDJ players back in 2002. The results were less than spectacular. Besides learning the technical aspects, I found that keeping up with current music (and obtaining it legally) could itself be a full-time job. So I put the equipment in a closet and was satisfied to buy compilation CDs and continue clubbing.

Then last year I bought MixMeister Fusion and found that I had a knack for mixing in the digital medium. I'm also a bit better able to afford music -- that made a big difference. Smile I even got the CDJs out for another practice spin and I'm a bit better at using those!

I mix mostly house and anthems -- what some call "screaming diva" music. But I also like trance and chillout too. Regardless of the style, though, I especially enjoy harmonic mixing -- finding just the right song to mix next is always a fun challenge.

Well, that's probably enough for now. Thanks for making this forum a great place to hang out!
-Todd

I want to say hello to all new and old ones!

I work here since this summer, and in the meantime I looooooooooove beatmixing.com. Just I have load my fourth mix
up to beatmixing.com (Welcome 2008). When you want to listen to harmonic transitions listen to my mixes.
The transitions are in keys and at my "Wedding Party" mostly in the same keys and BPMs!

Surely there are yet better mixers in beatmixing.com, but I do my best sir, and I get better and better!

Welcome DJ Todd! I love every DJ here, only Hip - Hop and R&B are not my friends. So it is so hard for me to
listen to BigVics great mixes. Cry Cry Cry But I love his Funk - Mix!

hi.. I should've said hello way earlier but better late than never!
I got into mixing because I wanted to play the music that I wanted to listen to in sequence and not have to keep swapping CD's over or changing the radio stations all the time. Plus I am already a huge EDM fan so it was and still is a fun thing for me to do.
Just finished my second year study in classical music and I would love to be able to be able to get to a stage where I can sample from my keyboard or manually add some tunes that I play - as a loop etc.

Oh, and I just found out that I passed all my exams so I am so happy. have a great xmas and happy new year guys!

Hello there, I'm luca.
Got MM Fusion last june and now I'm completely hooked on it.
I've been working in the nightlife scene as club owner and that gave me the opportunity to listen at least 4/5 Dj's sets weekly for almost ten years.I've always dreamed to Dj myself but never had enough time to spend shopping vinyl and learning on the decks. Now got a kid, my club is closed but with digital downloads and software like MM I finally can PLAY!
Had a 3 hours live set on New Year Party Night on the beach and still can't believe it.
My fav tunes spreads from NuJazz to some Tech House and even some Soulful Classics.

Ok, think that's enough for the "New Members....Say Hello!" now got tons of technical questions so....see you in the help section.

Have a good time.

Hi ho, and a happy new year to one and all. Club1

My name is Ged and although not new to mixing (on turntables), i am new to Mixmeister.
Getting on a bit now and thought i would relive my younger days by going back to doing something i love. I first started mixing back in 1985, i was lucky enough to go to a club where Chad Jackson was DJing (The 1988 world champion). I was hooked from the first moment i saw him do his stuff and went on to learn as much as i could from him. From there i met Duncan Smith (not a name anybody would know), but to me he was a god. Sadly he died in 2000. Both men along with a man called Greg Wilson (another God) did the end of year mixs for local stations in the north of England and became legends within the area. In 1991 Duncan asked me if i would like to a mix for the station he was with at the time and i went on to follow in there footsteps. I give it all up in 1994 to move onto other things, but now im back and i wanna get involved. I'm just getting myself up and running so give me a bit of time and hopefully i'll have something worth while for you to listen too.
In the meantime if ya wanna get in touch feel free.

See ya at the core.
Ged
