Welcome to the forum Rowan...we're glad to have you aboard.
As you continue to play around with Mixmeister learning the basics make sure to read some of the posts around here as well as the Tips & Techniques toolbar at the top of the page. You'll find a lot of usefull tidbits to get you sorted... Also, if you ever have any questions, there a ton of people here willing and able to lend a hand with answers.
That should come from you quite naturally as you figure out what you really like and what your style is...but if you ever want an assist on that just holler at me... BTW...what kinda tunes tickle your fancy...??!!?? Twisted Rook Co-Host of jack2it and Radio Active Fusion - R.A.F. on MMRadio Moderator Staff Member Twisted Rook @ MySpace |

Thanks dude!
Kinda stuff I'm listening to at the mo is a weird mixture of hip-hop like Cyne/De La Soul/Beastie Boys/Mr Lif, chilled out stuff like Bonobo/Jon Kennedy/Nujabes/RJD2, and darker things like Amon Tobin/FSOL. Also big into to mashups, especially anything by Go Home Productions Still at the stage of trying to organise my music collection so I can find stuff. I'll be pestering you all with questions soon as I get past that stage |

Hello all, I'm new to digital mixing but have been a DJ since 1975, yeh.. thats right I'm old school. I even still have my original Technics SL-1200's and Bozak mixer. I purchased MM studio 6 after trying many others, I must admit this is by far the best software for making mixed cd's, though I still prefer to mix live with my old and trusted rig. I have a huge collection of vinyl (25,000+) that I accumulated over the years and for now use mms6 just for mixed cd's. I do plan on incorporating MMS6 once I convert my records to MP3s. Great product, I hope they come out with more updates. I would also like to see more plug-ins made available.

Shiftael & Ovidio...Welcome both to the Mixmeister community. We're glad you decided to join the party...
It's nice to hear that his video tutorials serve more than one purpose...stick around, read some of the many insightful posts...and feel free to participate in here...that's what this community is all about.
Get used to the software...take your years of experience and combine it with your new found tool....once you're truly comfortable with MM (and once you've converted most of your collection) you'll see how liberating MM can truly be (if you've lugged around enough record crates, you'll truly appreciate this "lighter" set up...
You can count on that...
There are plenty of companies that specialize in making plug-ins...some are free (very few but hey), and some are inexpensive (although the real top quality specialized ones can set you back a bit). Do a little googling and you'll discover plenty of gems out there Twisted Rook Co-Host of jack2it and Radio Active Fusion - R.A.F. on MMRadio Moderator Staff Member Twisted Rook @ MySpace |

well im a new member so i thought id say hi ,been mixin for about 12 years now , been producing for about 6 . started using mixmeister by accident really , but it turns out that it a great program , i was hooked after about an hour . i still prefer mixing with vinyl but to create a perfect mix everytime for friends and my car is really appealing. i listen to / dj / produce drum and bass / hardcore.i can now use my own tracks with ease rather than having them cut in vinyl 1st. quality.

Hello Everybody,
I am so pleased to have purchased MixMeister Pro 6. At the end of the day, I consider myself here to learn mixing as well as possible, using MixMeister, from you all! I have demo-ed and got to know, much all of the DJ software available in quite some detail (including Live & Traktor). I have decided that MixMeister most suits my temperaments and skill set, and also, really, the only one that has allowed me to feel that I am capable of mixing a great set... …(Even if just for a short while…)… And just as much, I am so looking forward to sharing the chill/dance music that I love with you all. I am sure you are aware, that in the UK - we have had the glorious Hed Kandi Mix phenomenon... Quality beyond our wildest dreams - courtesy of Mark Doyle... (though since Mark Doyle has left – recently - the latest mixes have been significantly tilted towards 'Twisted Disco' - a genre I find quite difficult to relate to at present). Maybe I am just not Man-Enough - Yet!! I hope you experience as many nights of wonderful music - into the wee hours, as I have been fortunate to enjoy through them... Gosh... how poetic.... ...And… …it will probably turn out that you will know most of the tunes anyhow I will be posting mixes very soon though - for comment and recommendations. All welcome - please. I look forward to getting to know you all. Best, Miy Simon This message has been edited. Last edited by: Miy Simon, |

Hey DJ Dwill...Welcome to the community.
In regards to which version of Mixmeister you should choose...I would say the demos for both and give them a spin. Realize though, that Studio would be the better purchase, because once you start mixing and hearing great results, you'll want more control & flexibility...and it sounds to me like you'll get more and more into than a casual user...That's where studio truly excels.
