I have a wicked mix which I burn to a CD, but when I play it does not sound the way it does in the actual program. The songs have a pause between the songs when thet are fading in, and also there is like a repeat like when a record is scratch. I am new to this software so I aplogize. Do you have any ideas. I am sure you would like this mix. I have the maroon riddim, drop leaf, hard time, doctors darling, I swear. Nuff foundatiom music. Please respong....Blessings.

Lo All,

My name is Belmiro, just picked up a copy of Mixmeister Express and produced a quality mix in about 3hrs :-)

This software is sooo cool. Something I have wanted to do for fun for ages.

I am a big fan of Deep House and the "naked " sound, if you know what I mean.

I was wondering if I should pick up Mixmeister Studio, as it seems to offer more.

Bear in mind, I am NOT a professional and wont ever be...but I wouldn't mind posting up some mixes here and not feel like an amatuer.

Any advice you wnt to throw my way is always appreciated..Mucho gracias from the UK!

Rastaman, I'm thinkin' this is not exactly the right thread to post this on these boards, but I'll give you some feedback.

Which Version of MM are you using?

What type of CD player are you using? Some older CD players just don't handle CDs w/ continuous mixes very well and give you a pause.

Are you extracting the mix to a folder then burning the tracks to CD using another piece of software, like Roxio or Nero? If so, the problem is with the settings for the CD burning software, you have to manually remove the 2 second gap between songs.

Hope this helps, or at least gets us on the right track to fixing your problem.

Hi there poeple

I just bought MM Studio 6, and I'm just waiting for it to plot my tracks so I thought I'd pop on here and say hi.

I used to DJ in Manchester about 10 years ago and have recently ripped my 7000 choons to mp3 (what a job that was!) and now I finally have some software I can use to create mixes with them.

I'm mainly into House and Trance, but will also be trying to put together some Hip Hop and Breakbeat mixes.

Cheers folkes

Hail from the other side of the Pond. . . I hope you plan to submit mixes to either our trance station or house station.

When you feel comfortable, give someone a shoutout for a tag team. They're quite fun and make for a great learning experience.

HELLO!

I'm brand new to this forum and I have to find my way here , so excuse me for doing anything wrong Wink

I know I have to read the faq first etc etc...but I only have one question:
how do you manage to mix two songs (or sometimes 3 simultaniously) into each other and keeping the VU meter below 0?

I wonder how many people visit this board..at first it doesn't seem very crowded here, or am I wrong? anyways..the reply's will prove if it is

for those who are interested and open to give me some advise I give you the URL's of two mixes I made...feedback is very welcome

Grim on Mbient - A leap in time
Grim on Mbient - Revolt

both mixes are IDM-ish (192kb vbr)
A leap in Time starts with electro/poppy house and ends with Hip Hop (sort of)
Revolt starts with Hip - Hop-ish beats and ends very rough!

cheers, Robin

(EDIT) I removed the URLs, because I just read it is forbidden...

Hi Robin and welcome ... I can't tell from your question if you have tried MM and you had a problem with your levels, or if it's a theoretical question, wondering if we all have levels problems when we use the software.... Speaking just for myself, I've never found that to be an issue ... just to be sure, I opened a mix with a rather loud couple of tracks in it and, no, the VU doesn't get above zero ... if you are using the s/w and having levels problems, you can adjust the volume of the track using the volume sliders at the left-hand edge of the screen (under the catalog) ... but there may also be adjustments you could be making to the quality of your rips ....

Hope that helps, and if I've missed the point, one of the others will jump in and add some comments. Smile

I got something for your mind, your body and your soul.

Well...here I go jumping in....from what i'm reading, I believe he's talking about overlaying several tracks together yet still maintaining the levels ar 0dB.

when you're overlaying several tracks together you usually drop the volume on the other tracks, so that they blend better...otherwise any part of the other tracks could easily overwhelm the mix...you also manipulate the treble abd bass markers for that very reason...

Plus on top of that you can use a Compressor or Mastering Limiter (as a global plug-in) to keep things at or just below 0dB.

Last but not least....Welcome to the forum Cool....and thank you for going back and reading the FAQs page Wink

yes..that's exactly my problem
I see there is no way of overlaying several tracks when 2 songs are 100% in volume and not changed in bass or in treble... it doesn't happen much tho, but sometimes it just sounds good and then the VU level is above 0 Frown

I need to check out the plug-ins a bit more I guess

who aren't afraid to be cutting edge, and who don't want to turn their pc into a pretend set of decks and mixer (hello traktor dj Razz) only joking.

anyone else from blighty here, or am i alone in my cursade to treat people of england to a creative, thoughtful blend of music, that so far only mixmeister has enabled me to produce.

peace, to one and all.
