I hope this is in the correct forum, this seems to fit best here. Please dont take any of this as "slamming" the product, just some thoughts..

I just DLed the trial version of mm6 after being a faithful mm3 user for years, only to find a stripped down version of mm3 with pretty silver graphics. Where'd all the buttons on the bottom go? I see the snap to beat has moved and the zoom is now a slider bar, but everything else is gone. I realize that everything is reduced to keyboard shortcuts now, but why change it if it wasnt broken...or was it?
Secondly, wheres the mid volume? Ive made some clean mixes without a mid marker and it isnt entirely necessary, but if thats the case then why do most all industry standard mixers have one? I cant imagine this as being too difficult to impliment into the product. Having a mid adjustment ability could be the difference between a good set and a great one, especially for studio-type recording. I was surprised to see that no one requested this so far.
I like the reverse feature and the improved sound quality, but it almost doesnt justify switching to a more up to date version. Can anyone clairfy these things for me? I think id be less reluctant to switch over from mm3 to 6 (and more likely to buy 6) if someone could clear this up...T

If you've downloaded a trial version of one of the products from MixMeister, then it must be Express 6 -- there is no longer a "Pro 6" or "Studio 6" available for sale.

If you want to make a features comparison, have a look at THIS PAGE.

Express was never intended to be "a stripped down version of MM3" -- there were three program upgrades (versions 4, 5 and 6) before Express 6 was released as a simplified approach to mixing -- or, as the product write-up on this page says,

quote:
MixMeister Express 6 is a powerful tool that you can use to create a professional-sounding mix from your music files with a minimum of effort. Express is used every day by dance music fans, party DJs, fitness instructors and choreographers who want to "let the computer do the hard parts" and make their own mix CD in minutes.

If you want all the maximum program functionality (including midrange control), you may want to look at Fusion or Studio 7 instead of Express 6.

Express 6 was the version i was referring to. I guess i posted without looking into the more serious versions of mm, which by the way i did download the trial of studio and it has pretty much everything i was looking for. After years of playing with v.3 its finally time for me to upgrade. Thank you for clarifying.
