Yes, you can create them yourself ... any track you move into the Playlist can be "converted" to an Overlay: just open the Track Settings window (right click on the track in the Playlist and choose "Adjust Track Settings") and you can change the the quality of the track from Primary to Overlay.
Once this is done, you can play around with bits and pieces of the Overlay (move, cut'n'paste, etc.) or just use the entire track as an Overlay to another track... HTH Moto free your ears and your mind will follow... |

You would use your own files for the overlay. They could be acapella's that you might have, sound effects, or little snipets of other trax that you want to use (generally a beat that you loop)

There are also outfits like PLP (Peace Love Productions) that create CDs full of loops you can add to your mixes. PLP has a mailing list and members receive a link to 20 free loops every month or so ... a nice deal

I have a side question to this thread that may be something that has been delt with before. I drag and drop "voice overs" into a song and note that the voice recording is at 95 bpm and the track that I drop them on to is 140 BPM. The problem is that the voice track is now going to 140 bpm and sounds too fast to be legeible. there is no redline for the droped in track what do you do to bring it in with its own BPM?

It's always good when you post a question to indicate which version of MM you use, since these things work differently in different versions. These instructions are for Pro 6:
Hover your cursor over the bar at the bottom of the overlay track ... you'll be able to drag the track (not move the position of the track, but drag it so it appears to increase or decrease in horizontal width) and you'll see numbers indicating that the BPM is changing and what percentage of the standard track the overlay is changing to. Awesome that is the exact version that I ahve and thank you for your feed back. One more question if I may. Is there away to run a mix and with a mike place voice overs on it with outhaving to drop the pre recorded take in and then take down the volume of the main track to allow you to be heard over the music?

I don't believe there is. I think people have requested this in the past, but to my knowledge, there is no live feed into MM ...
Because there is no longer any development work being done on prior versions (e.g., Pro 6) this will not be added in the future. Whether it would (or could) ever be added in future MixMeister products, I really don't know. I got something for your mind, your body and your soul. |
