Hi i amusing mix meeister pro 6. It seems to be having trouble accurately calculating the BPM for the song DEM BOYZ - BY Boys in the hood. MM comes up with 157 which is incorrect i think. Does anyone know what the BPM for this song is? Thanks ahead for any help.

Well, the easiest way would be to use the manual (tapping) method. I am sure you will find that the beat would be around 78 bpm ( 1/2 the value).

Good luck.

MM seems to double the assumed BPM of quite a number of my tracks, particular slow stuff. Is there a way to force it to use my own BPM count?

Hi & Welcome along.

Right Click the Track in the Catalog, Select Properties, then you can either 1/2 the BPM or double it (2x) by clicking on the relevant button, or you can preview the tune and Left Click along to the beats to get MM to recalculate (normally need to tap 16 or 32 beats to get accurate reading), or finally, you can just type in the BPM you believe the tune to be.

Once you've made your changes click ok and MM stores the info for future usage.

It's generally any tune below about 70BPM or over 140 that MM has dificulty with, and I'm sure it's something that the technical guys are trying to sort a solution for.

I, too have an issue with certain slow songs, being calculated at 2x the BPM. I've noticed that when I go into the Edit menu, and click 1/2, the song plays at a very unstable tempo. Can anyone shed some light on this????

Hi Peter,

Welcome to the forums, I see from your profile that you haven't listed which version of MixMeister you use, so I'm presuming it's the demo of Fusion/Studio 7 (Please correct me If I'm wrong).

With Fusion/MMS7, as well as setting the BPM to 1/2, you may well also need to amend the measure markers within the song slicer in order to ensure that the tempo becomes locked.

Another option is to close and then reopen MM once you've mde changes like this - the program should re-scan & re-plot your files, and will (hopefully) put the measure markers to the new BPM instead of the old 2x BPM.

Hope this makes sense and helps some.

I to had problems with the BPM's
Had to go to the help file and learn more.
Please take some time to learn by reading.
Then if you can't figure it out ask for help on the bb's. The Beat Slicer is the trick.
Then reload the song it should work.
MixMeister was the best of the rest.
The BPM Counter Is A Trip.
And If you never had the chance to beat mix or the no how about beat mixing then it may not help you mix. hope this helps.
