Does mixmeister allow use of the waves diamond bundle? How do I get to use their effects, cause I don't see them available in my effects rack. Please help, thanks.
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we might as well dance !!!

If i'm wrong someone will correct me...but I think MM Fusion now works with VST effects instead of DX effects.

I've not tried it yet but I spotted on another audio production forum that DX Rack can be used as a DX to VST adapter.

There is a freeware version available here:

Like I said I've not tried it yet but it was recommended on another forum as a way of getting waves working on VST hosts. It looks like you load it up with the DX plugins but the FFX-4 will show up as a vst.

OK I've tried it out myself with the Waves Gold bundle, so the Diamond plugins should follow the same process...in fact this should work for any DX plugin.

1) Download FFX-4 from
http://perso.orange.fr/vb-audio/us/products/dxrack/dxrack.htm

2) Install it with the default options.

3) Copy VB_ffx4.dll from C:\Program Files\VB\FFX4\ to c:\Program Files\Mixmeister Fusion\

4) Launch Fusion (or Studio 7) and add a track and the VB_ffx4 plugin

5) Launch the effect control panel for VB_Ffx4

6) Click one of the 4 "rack" slots on the plugin control panel, it will gve you a list of all your DX plugins. The DX plugin control panel will launch.

7) You can add up to 4 DX plugins with FFX4

8) Set up your DX plugins to your preference. The Fusion/Studio 7 sound output will be routed through them.

Have fun!

It works now, thank you very much Monkey Dan!!

If you know, which plugins do you recommend I try out if I want a sound similar to Armin's ASOTs (he uses wave diamond bundle)?

Again, many thanks.

I can post my "starting point" settings later when I get home which work well for trance radio, in the meantime if you want to get really in depth the waves mastering forum is here:

Ok, now you seem to have come to a conclusion, could you 2 advise me on what's so special about Waves (preferably with screenshots?).

Not being confrontational (this is no "you can do that with x,y,z"), I just want to know if it's worth my while investing time/money in obtaining it.

Thanks in advance!

On the surface (and with screenshots) it's not that special - they offer the same functionality as many other plugins - but for mastering they are a total godsend when you combine the ease of use with the second-to-none quality of the audio output.

Whew!

That was an 'interesting' read!

Really good to obtain some in-depth, detailed analysis on the nature of Audio and how best to maximise the sound experience.

A real pity so much of the discussions got hijacked!

I think I'll look at the package, but as I don't Mix too much Trance/psytrance (or any of the 6 million sub-sub genres Wink ), I may stick to using the Kjaerhus products I currently use.

Thanks for the response Dan!
