is there an easy way to do this on mixmeister? i know when i mix live (2 turntables), i can pull this off and it stays on beat, but when i try this on mm, the differnt bpm's confuses the program, and it sounds like a train wreck. i'm new around here, so hopefully someone can advise me on how to do this. thanks
God I wish I could think of something amusing to have...

Hi,

If you're using MMPro 6, try changing the properties of the 80bpm track to 160bpm in the playlist (right click - properties)

thanks gaz. im using mm7. i tried changing the track from 80bpm to 160, but then it sounds like chipmunks. if i could leave that track at 80, and blend in that other track at 160bpm's, they should stay on beat. i can do this manually on my 1200s, but since mm matches beats automatically, it wants to change them both to the same bpm. any other suggestions?

Don't use beatmatching, use standard (not at home right now, and can't remember what it's called in v.7) ... used to do this all the time in v.6 w/ Dnb ... 80 w/ 160 works fine as long as the program isn't trying to beatmatch.

Look in the Fusion / Studio 7 Help file under "Transitions" ... it explains the variations available from the Transition column in the playlist. I think you want to use "Crossfade" ... here's what it says in Help:

quote:
Crossfade: Fades the outgoing track volume while increasing the incoming track volume. Crossfade doesn't change the original BPM for a track

By positioning the Anchors where you need them, and doing whatever you want with the volume (because you can change the defaults, of course) you should be able to do what you wanted ....

If your tracks are still not meshing properly, then you'll probably need to roll up your sleeves and get busy with the Song Slicer. Wildr, Moto and others have contributed many useful posts here in the Forum about working successfully with the Song Slicer ... use the Forum FIND function to look for those if you need them.

Let us know how it goes.....

J8, when you're changing the BPM in the tag editor (right-click the 80 BPM track in the Library and choose Edit Tag...), it should basically work ...

... however, if you have already added the 80 BPM track to the Playlist, you might have to adjust the BPM Marker at the bottom of the Timeline ... if you already mixed the tune with the preceeding tune, this is a bit more complicated but still pretty straight forward - tell me if you need more info on that...
