it seems like im being forced into using the slicer which i do not have a very good grasp of but it seems as if i change too much about how a song mixes it all goes out of sync...this is happening alot, i usualy make sure i stay in key, and i only vary the bpm slightly AKA mix 139 into 135-144 but i cant get it to work right once again it held sync then i had both tracks go down into a synth with no bass then the bass came back and it was a trot da da da da da how the hell does this happen?? it was perfect before the synth, how did it lose sync in 1 measure? do i just need to study the slicer or am i doing something wrong? i guess to give evidence against myself i almost always adjust the intro and outro anchors and thats usually where the chaos begins, am i causing this?? sorry for all the questions im just way confused, and maybe im trying things out of my league for a beginner to MM and trying things it took me years to figure out on vinyl, etc

The Song Slicer is at the core of Fusion's approach to handling beats ... it's the tool you use to identify where the measures fall on the BeatGrid and figuring out how to use the Slicer properly has generated probably more questions than any other aspect of Fusion.
If you go to the Fusion section of the forum and then click on the FIND function and enter the word "slicer" (so the search will be limited to the Fusion part of the forum) you'll get several hundred responses ... I got 314, including this one:
So the answer to your question is: Yes, you need to study the slicer. You have many resources: The program Help file; the tutorials that Wildr and others have created; Banter's "How I Got Started with Fusion" post, and all the other posts you'll find if you search on the word "slicer". Once you've had a look at some of this material and you have tried out some of the suggestions, let us know if you have more questions.... I got something for your mind, your body and your soul. |
