Dare to look stupid, that's my motto ...
I just started playing with the Studio demo and having problems: 1. Frequently the orange tab marker on the left hand side in the mix window is concealed by a volume mark, which means I have to zoom waaaaaay in until I can select it. Is there an easier way to do this? 2. In both the main mix window and the timeslice window, is there a shortcut command that will transport you to the beginning of the track/mix? In some other audio apps I've used, hitting the return button will do this. 3. There is often a substantial delay between hitting the "play" button and actually hearing the audio. This is making it very hard for me to tweak beatmarkers on a couple of problem tracks I'm trying to fix. Speaking of which, for some reason one of my tracks, a very straightforward 4/4 house song, imports with an extra two beats at the beginning. I can see this dead space in the waveform and would like to just select it and lop it off, but haven't found a simple way to do that. I'm really excited about this software! Thanks for any help you can offer. |

I'll try ...
1. Not sure what you mean by the "orange tab marker" ... is that the anchor you are referring to? (Vertical orange line with an inverted pyramid at the top.) You can grab an anchor anywhere on the vertical line to move it, so it can't really be "concealed" by a volume marker ... that's why I think you must be referring to something else ... but what? How about posting a screen shot.... 2. I know that you can move to the beginning of a mix by double-clicking on the first track as shown in the Playlist panel ... there may be another option, but I don't know it. 3. This latency issue has been addressed in the version 7.05 update that was just released; probably the demo doesn't incorporate any updates/fixes. That said, I have installed the update and still experience latency issues at the beginning of tracks when trying to play them in the SongSlicer. Different users have had different experiences with this. I think it's a work in progress. You can try to eliminate the hesitation by going into Tools>Options>Audio Output>Advanced and tweaking the settings you see there. To split a track in order to delete part of it, click on the waveform where you want the split to occur and hit "S" which will create a segment line at the cursor position; you can then delete the portion that's causing the problem. HTH P.S., if you become a MixMeister user with additional questions, please post those question in the relevant part of the forum (e.g., Stduio 7 Help) so other users can easily find and benefit from the answers ... thanks! I got something for your mind, your body and your soul. |
