Hello,

I recently got Mixmeister Fussion + Video. I know that it has the ability to mix two tracks with different bpm by adjusting the tempo of one track to be able to mix without distorting either track. I have looked for tutorial on how to do this, but have been unsucesful. I am attempting to mix two tracks. Track 1 is 125bpm and track two is 140 bpm. When I attempt to mix track 2 into track 1 it just sound awful as one track is speed up and the other is slowed down. This results in one bad mix.

Any help would be appreciated.

There is a tutorial that comes with the program -- when you open Fusion, you get a prompt to view the tutorial -- have you seen that?

There are also several tutorials on the forum in this section -- have you seen those?

It is worth noting that it will not always be possible to beat-match two tracks of significantly different tempos and have it sound pleasing ... 15 BPM is considered significantly different by many folks.

It's logical that for the tracks to blend at a common BPM, one would have to slow down and the other would have to speed up ... generally what makes this souund bad is that the two tracks are having to make too big a change in their tempo. Of course, there are other reasons why the mix might sound bad ... key clash is another thing to consider ... or maybe the two track just don't work well together.

The skills of mixing are part of an equation that includes the art of selecting the proper tracks to mix ... regardless of the software, some tracks will simply not work together ...

Oh, and it's worth pointing out that it takes some practice to get good with MixMeister just like it takes practice on decks ...

Good luck
