Hi, I'm new and rubbish with computers. I ride horses and want to mix some music for dressage to compete with. I am in England and very wet at the moment with floods ,so be kind. I can't get music into my library from my computer, my media centre has music I have put in from my cds and some I have downloaded but I can't seem to transfer it. I just seem to have the 3 tunes that downloaded with my purchase .PLEASE DON@T LAUGH AT ME <HELP

Hi Carthorse,

Welcome to the Forums!

I'm also in the UK, but luckily I've avoided the flooding (so far)!

The use of MixMeister sounds like a REALLY original one, I'm guessing you're the first person to use it for Dressage music!

As to your problem, I think there's a couple of things we need to look at in order to try and solve your problem.

Your profile says you use Express, so I'm going to use that to try and help you.

In Tools>Options>Library Tab does it list a path to where you're music is stored?

This would look like C:\My Music for example (presuming My Music is where you have stored your Music Files).

If so, go to that location by double clickong on the My Computer Icon on your desktop, clicking on the C: Icon and then double clicking on the My Music folder to open the folder and see the contents.

If you're Music files are there, then the problem is with the files themselves and my guess would be that they have copy protection built into them - this is usually known as DRM (Digital Rights Management). MixMeister doesn't work with files that have DRM unfortunately.

I'm guessing here (please correct me if I'm wrong), that if you've bought Music online, you've bought it from somewhere like ITunes who automatically add DRM to any file they sell.

Also if you ripped the files from CD, then the program you used probably added DRM when you ripped the files - Windows Media player for example gives you the option to add protection or not.

Let us know whether I've hit the mark with anything here, and how/where you got your files and I'll try to help you further.

Oh, and don't worry the only people who get laughed at here are DnC and TRR* - but they both deserve it!!

Hi Wildr
Thank you for taking the interest, you are probably right,I thought it would be plain sailing butI think I need help from someone cleverer than me, not difficult.
Mixmeister support has emailed me loads of help but it looks quite complicated but I will have a go .I live near Coventry and I know someone who has used it for dressage in Gloucester [hope they can swim]but they used a pirate copy ,which of course I am not doing.
I need to make a 4.30 min cd with intro /trot/ walk/canter and finale. It needs to match my horses paces. I have a very old one that uses 'hello dolly/sunrise, sunsetand money makes the world go round but as you can see it is dated. I like the group Bond or some theme tunes from TV programmes.
Again thank you for your interest.

Cathy,

It doesn't matter whether the tunes are old or new, you should still be able to use MM to put together your routine.

I'm more than happy to help out, so if you get stuck with the info that Tech Support has provided you with, I'll try and help - I can use some pictures from my own setup to help you out if 'seeing' is better than reading!

Glad to see you're using a proper copy of Express!

Keep the faith Wink
