I'm both new to the forums and a new user of MixMeister Studio 7. I've been working on my first mix and have encountered my first problem track. The transistion into this track was completly off beat so I utilized the slicer and noticed that the first measure was off due to the tracks intro. This was corrected and resulted in a perfect in synch transistion. However when I tried to mix out of the corrected track, I got the same problem. Even though the intro was corrected in the slicer the remainder of the track appears to drift out of sync. I've tried manually entering measure markers, but I just can't seem to get the entire track to stay in synch with the metronome. Any suggestions on how I can resolve this issue. Thanks in advance for any help offered.

If you can't seem to correct the track in the Slicer (maybe due to off-beats), there's a "unorthodox" way you can use:

1. Irop the problem track twice (or even three times) into the playlist.
2. Fix the intro transition with the Slicer in the first track.
3. Choose a Beatmix Cut transition for the transition to the second track.
4. Fix the transition so that track 1 swaps over to track 2 without noticing.
5. Now you can use the Slicer to fix the outro transition of track 2.

If the track is very "complicated" you can expand this method by using the track a third time in between the other two versions, and delete all Measure Markers in the second iteration of the problem track...

Does that help you?

Thanks for the quick reply Moto! I'll have to give your "unorthodox" technique a try. But can't the slicer repair "via tweak" an entire drifting track so that regardless if your mixing into or out of it, it will always mix perfectly? I'm assuming the only way to maybe accompolish this would be to manually mark every measure of the entire track.
Have you had your serotonin surge today?

Human drummers, jazz timings -- the further away from straight up 4/4 time your track is, the more likely you will need to set every measure marker where that track is trying to beat-match against another track.

The track should be straight 4/4 time being it's genre is Trance. Oh well, guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and mark all the measures manually.

If it's a straight 4/4 beat structure it should be enough to add one Measure Marker each at the very beginning and at the very end of the track (after deleting all existing Measure Markers) ... however (and if that doesn't work), you should keep in mind that even trance tracks may include extra beats out of the 4/4 beat pattern which might automatically make the measures "shift" in the Slicer!

Moto & MadameFLY. After further investigation in the slicer, I was able to find the exact occurance when the track drifted off from the metronome. Interestingly enough, it occured during an acapella. I've put about an hour into tweaking it with multiple measure markers and it's sounding much better. If all goes well, I'll have the tweak finished sometime tomorrow. Thanks again for all the advice. I'll keep you posted on the end result.

Yes, the most common areas of "drift" in the autoslicer tend to occur in areas where the beat is not clearly defined. Those tend to be acapella vocals or vocals with light instrumentals and lyrical instrumental interludes when a strong downbeat is not present. I had one recently go awry in at the end of a track outro containing only solo guitar.
