Hi. This is something I've experienced with both Pro 4 and 5.

Let's say I have 2 songs I want to beatmix. The playlist is set to "beatmixing" and not "standard mixing"

It appears that Mixmeister has a default overlay of 32 beats (which is the same
as 8 measures because 1 measure = 4 beats).

In other words, where the outro sprockets of the 1st song and intro sprockets of the 2nd song are lined up, that area appears to default at 8 measures.

I want to increase the length of outro and intro sprockets so that the overlay is longer, perhaps going to 10 measures and greater.

What I usually do is simply drag the vertical red line of the right intro sprocket of the 2nd song and right outro sprocket of the 1st song to the right so that the overlay is extended. But what always occurs is that the left intro and outro sprockets move a little bit, which results in the overlay getting out of line.

I do not have Snap to Beat enabled (not sure whether this matters anyway)

(1) Why does this happen? My goal is to just increase the overlay of the songs.

Is there an easier way of doing this?

(2) Is there any way of changing the default overlay (i.e. increase the default overlay to 16 measures instead of what appears to be a default of 8 measures)?

Thank you.

I don't fake it, I simply designed it!

Go to Tools. Set the snap length to measure. Then turn on snap to beat. And try again by extending the beatmixing ranges. Let me know what happens.

Andre:

That has apparently resolved the issue. But you have to increase the right intro sprocket first, and then line up the right outro sprocket.

Thank you very much. The mixes sound a lot better now. I just wish there was a way to change the default so that the overlay was greater, but I guess that is a matter for the wishlist.

Well I think I just found a bug in Pro 5. Before I was able to put the Snap Length to 8 measures, and when I would stretch out the ranges it would snap to 8 measures. It's no working anymore.

I wish you hadn't repeated this thread in so many different places. Now I have to move this bug report to it's correct section.

Andre:

Sorry about the multiple posts. I wasn't sure where to post this because it covered all versions of Mixmeister, and seemed related to a tip or technique.

Keep me posted about the bug you discovered.
