I've been using MM Pro 6 for a while but today I encountered a problem during a live mix for the first time. For some reason, during the playback, the tracks all of a sudden started playing at twice the tempo, such that the pitch was shifted up as well. The time counter was moving too quickly - almost skipping forwards. The resulting sound of Ali el-Deek like a chipmunk was awful. I encountered the problem twice with the following files:

Ali el-Deek - 3alloosh
13:36 128 kbps (CBR)

Vex'd - Gunman
6:08 227 kbps (VBR)

The first time I stopped the playback, reset the performance counter, and then restarted the performance. The second time, later in the set, I stopped using MM in live mode and switched to preview mode. That stopped the massive Vex'd bass from squeaking like a chipmunk but it also meant I couldn't cue up tracks by ear anymore.

My setup consists of MM Pro 6, ASIO on an Echo Indigo DJ soundcard, Pentium M 1.4 and 1.5GB RAM. I was not running any other programs.

Any ideas how it all went so horribly wrong?
