I dont know if anybody else has this problem. Does the timeline seem to get really sluggish at the very end of a mix? I notice it when working at the very end of the last song. Its almost like MM is looking really really hard for something after the last song and cant find it. haha
Perfect Mix Recipe: 1. Crush up 10 CD's in large pot 2. Bring to boil. 3. let cool one hour 4. Eat You are now one with the music. (Dont forget to daily your daily dose of Mixmeister for extra rhythm!) |

I think it's MM's way of telling you that you are not finished with the mix... keep going- non-stop- to the bbbbb-break of dawn! Seriously, I've never experienced this problem. AMU - All Mixxed Up www.Mixx-It.com www.myspace.com/douglascox <-- It’s not a Deja'vu , it’s a classic! --> |

Does the sound slow down correspondingly? Or is it just the position marker?

I dont think the sound changes, to tell you the truth I dont know. I am normally at home editing when I notice it. When I am working on the end of the last track, such as changing the outro volume markers the system gets "sluggish". It almost seems like the framerate is being slowed down. It happens when you have around half the screen without a track.

I have the same/similar problem. Whenever I'm working on the mix, after it gets to around 40 mins+, the mouse cursor seems to move a bit sluggish when it's focused on the program, and then when I hit play, the program is totally unresponsive, and the only way I can fix it is to switch focus to some other program, then switch back and quickly hit stop within a second, or else the program goes unresponsive again. All the while, the music plays perfectly fine with no delays or stutters, and nothing else on my computer is affected. I know it can't be because of my computer, since I am running an AMD Athlon X2 4800+ dual core with 2 gigs of ram and nothing else running on the computer. This is purely an issue with mixmeister, and it really sucks >.>
-=Edit=- Ok, wow, I feel like a tard... Turns out everything runs perfect if I just turn off the video preview window (which wasn't showing anything but a black square anyway since I wasn't using video). This message has been edited. Last edited by: TuRDMaN, |

If you open your 'Windows Task Manager' (Control/Alt/Delete) it will show how much memory MM is using. It build up quite high the longer you run the program. If you minimize the program back to your 'Desktop' view and bring up MM again, you will notice that all the built-up memory usage is released. You can keep the Task window open while you do this so you can see the number go right down. Someone suggested I do this in 'Live' mode since I have had a couple 'sound drop-offs' while DJ'ing at various parties. Seems to work for me as I have had no more sound drop-offs. Maybe it will work for the sluggishness, which I have also experienced before.

I have been runnung MM 4-5 nights per week for between 5 and 10 hours per night since 2004. My old computers were a bit sluggish but my 2006 laptop is a ball tearer and have no problems at all. Toshiba M60 Pentium M (2.2GHz), 2 gig ram, 256 stand alone video card. It's brilliant!
What is the speed of dark and how slow is the silence barrier? |
