HI,
Every time I use the catalog cleanup, it goes thru all the files and then it hits 100% and freezes. I have to close it down . I cant get rid of all the double entries, any clues? "If I medicined you, you'd think a brain tumour was a birthday present." |

Would I be better off bypassing this bug forum and contacting support directely?
No replies in 2 weeks seems to be a bit slow for a bug report area, unless it means just that....just report the bug?? thank you "If I medicined you, you'd think a brain tumour was a birthday present." |

Have you had your serotonin surge today? |
Yes, definitely you should contact tech support with this issue.
I think it has been mentioned before, but although the MM folks check the forum from time to time (and Aaron responds to postings occasionally) this is not the "official" tech support area, but just users helping other users. If no one else has encountered your particular problem before, then no user suggestions will be offered and it's time to send an email to MM Tech Support. I got something for your mind, your body and your soul. |

firstly i'd do a virus scan of all your music drives...it may not be this but you never know. This happened to me a while back and it was a rogue DRM WMA file..not a virus i know. I had a WMA file with Digital rights management and MM couldn't get past it. Also make sure all your drives are defragged. This will help with the speed of the catalogue clean up. Another thing you may consider if you use Video is there maybe a crap video in your catalogue. Ever opened up...MM to see it checking the same video everytime you open it?? well this is a sure sign that something in that video isn't right. |

Sorry for late reply,
I did get an email from support but it got lost in a webmail attack, What I did was just leave the clean-up and after 15 minutes or so it cleaned it all, I think the amount of files (250GB) was the cause of it, cheers "If I medicined you, you'd think a brain tumour was a birthday present." |

How do you find DRM files? |

well for a start i had no idea i had any on my machine. i do occassionally download from the net and i remember a while back purchasing a few WMA's from a website and forgot all about them...they were just in with my other Mp3's. Then one day i had moved some Mp3 from an old drive...result was that MM wouldn't open. I checked the files and noticed some were WMA files... so i opened one in WMP to see what the quality was like, and low and behold it wouldn't open, it came up with a DRM message, then i remembered the ones i had bought. i simply removed all the WMA files from the folder and MM opened.
