Hi !

I just recognized, that the update MMPro 6.1.6 is not able to playback all video clips in my existing mixes anymore in an adequate way. I add video clips as an overlay to the matching audio tracks in all of my mixes. For some reason, there are video clips that mixmeister plays back like this (even though BPM is exact the same as BPM of the master audio track):

- play the video clip much too fast.
- stop the clip for 2-4 seconds until sync comes back
- play the video clip much too fast.
- stop the clip for 2-4 seconds until sync comes back
- play the video clip much too fast.
- stop the clip for 2-4 seconds until sync comes back
.... and so on.

To get rid of this mega erratic behaviour, i replaced the dynamic link library MMVideo.dll with the version that came up with MMPro 6.0.5. With this version all video clips are played back fluent. Unfortunately, fading between the video clips does not work with this version, but this is much better than the erratic behaviour with the 6.1.6 DLL

Have you tried contacting support? We are not seeing this issue on our end.

Hi Aaron! No, i didn't contact support right now, cause i can use the old DLL and it works (except the "normal" stuttering during playback). I will try to find out, if there are any simiarities between the files that cause problems. Unfortunately, i have terrible headache today. Maybe, i can tell you more tomorrow.

The video image is displayed in the timeline; however, video is not displayed in preview or full screen mode. This error is present in AVI format. A frame image is apparent on both sides of the Montage Builder. I later found that the video works but only in performance mode. Video does not display in preview mode. I will send this finding to tech support tomorrow. Hope this helps. Smile

Allen,

What you describe sounds like correct behavior. When in dual output mode, only the performance controls produce video. Previewing the mix won't play video. If you preview video from the catalog, it should always appear in the video preview window.

Let me know if this doesn't help.

Thanks Aaron. Use of dual output does limit video playback to performance mode exclusively. I tried your findings and you are correct in single output mode both performance and preview playback will render flawless video playback. This is great information to archive for my last minute memory recalls when I am using the software and possibly fail to remember my preferred settings pending application requirements, especially when my mind may have logged off while at work. Thanks once more for providing clarity on the subject.

Hi! Just let me tell you that i can not find anything with the video files i have. But i found out that things got much better when i use the main concept mpeg2 filter! I just installed a demo version of the Main Concept Mpeg Encoder which also contains a demo mpeg2 decoder filter. Now i can play back all video files that caused problems also with the newest version 6.1.6 of MMVideo.dll. I also think stuttering problems got less with this video codec. The only disadvantage i have now is the MainConcept watermark on the screen.
The other thing is, i exchanged my CPU to a P930 (Pressler) 2x 3GHz, this seems to boost performance also a bit. The next step i will do is to exchange the harddrive i use for my video files to a 500GB Seagate SATA-II with NCQ and fast read (~55MB/sec) support.
