When I updated to the latest MM Pro 6, it seems to briefly PAUSE from time to time, especially when I try to modify the playlist.

Anyone else had this issue?

I've defrag'd the drives, and stopped other non-useful processes.

Didn't really have this problem in the other versions.

MM_Dave, if the music is momentarily pausing on playback you could change the audio output advanced settings. Move the slider towards reliable playback.

Use Windows XP's Task Manager to see what's eating your CPU time.

Here's an update:

I already had it on reliable playback.
I noticed it does it almost EVERY time certain videos play. But the issue is this: It has never happened before, and I've been using these videos for a WHILE now.

It happened once last night, but it was very brief. However, all of you know- 0.1 secs of silence in front of 1000 people is an eternity.

I've found no relief Frown

Aahh... pausing or stuttering when playing for an audience is ugly... I KNOW THAT Big Grin (not referring to MM but just to normal DJ experiences).

One thing I noticed with the MM 6 demo for me (and that's why I'm replying here):
I had problems when changing the slider (reliable or responsive) at all. When letting it at defaults or resetting it to defaults the sporadic skips were gone.

However, I had those skips every couple minutes or so. I guess it's difficult to chase if it only happened once during a whole night. It might just be a spike interrupt of your computer, nothing to do with MM. Or it might not... Cool

What kind of audio output are you using? A large enough ASIO buffer might help to prevent skips. And it does not really have a negative effect for DJing (compared to real-time music using ASIO).

I get the same issue with the latest version. I play only live audio without video.

I also get this problem on a test machine. AMD64 with ATI radeon 9600 512mb ddr. It hasn't happened on my performace machine (yet). Intel 3.2 1mb cache and 1.5 gig DDR. Although I have noticed more problems with video (studdering even blank screens at times, transistion pauses video only). I use a camera and go to it to relieve the pressure off the Video mix.

Also I've bought the DVD01 mixable dvd player by Numark it sucks! It's slow and clunky. Thier video mixer the AVM01 sucks too It has one volume lever for both inputs. Dumb design. All it's inputs are composite instead of S-Video...

Sorry I got off topic

I almost forgot Microsft has a new utlity out that has helped me trouble shoot my video codecs

It's called

MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP VIDEO DECODER CHECKUP UTILITY (DECCHECK.EXE)

You can set which decoder you want to use on your system. I stubbled on it with my New MCE XP I built. You'll have to go Microsoft and get though.

I seemed to have fixed the problem on my test machine.

After MMPro.exe loads If you go and press ctrl alt del and right click on the file. Set the priority to belowNormal. It seems to work without any problems or pauses.

Wouldn't you want to set it's priority to above normal?
