in columns:comments , in catalog and playlist window i get wrong text XXX)
in my files , text in that comment field (id3tag) is in format exp. (5A - 129 BPM)
why is mix. showing text XXX in all comment fields ?

This occurs because the ripper that you're using inserts those in a field that is non-standard in id3tag. Unfortunately, that same field is accessed solely by mmp6. There are many tag editors that I have tried to modify / clean up the fields, but none so far can see mmp6's comment field. I said previously, only mmp6 seems to use this non-standard area of the tag.

While I understand that mmp6 is no longer supported, it would be nice if just *one* of the power programmers at MixMeister or in DJ Land would write a small utility for us to clean up the comment fields, otherwise, we have to clean them up one at a time. Quite frankly, 3000 songs (in my case) is a lot to clean up!

I've got over 39,000 songs!! Now that would be very time consuming - luckily my tags are sweet..

How did you get your tags clean? I mean just using iTunes and Music Match Jukebox, I get things in the comment field like

engiTunPGAP

It's annoying.

I use Exact Audio Copy to rip & use ID3Tag to correct any tags prior to importing into MM.

You're right! Nip in the bud. If I would've done that ages ago, I wouldn't be in this mess.

I was a user of pcdj FX before I knew MixMeister existed. So I didn't even know about the existence of a comment field.

Me thinks that EAC doesn't create any extraneous data in the areas that mmp6 reserves as a comment field.

I'm not familiar with ID3Tag. Can it read the comment field used by mmp6? I have yet to see a tag editor out there that will read that area reserved by mmp6.
