Rule #1 - Moderators have the authority to manage Beatmixing.com
Beatmixing.com is managed, developed and maintained by the moderator team who are a group of users from the community offering their time on a voluntary basis in order to further the community and ensure that the site/forum rules are upheld. From time to time new moderators may be appointed, this will be based on an identified requirement to add to the moderator team. Moderators will be recruited from the wider membership of Beatmixing.com based on overall contribution, attitude and enthusiasm towards the community, and a decision will be made by the existing moderators and Mixmeister Technology staff. The moderator team have a number of tools at their disposal incuding the ability to manage content and users. Moderators may in the wider interests of the community edit/delete/lock threads, and in extreme cases ban users who repeatedly break the rules or otherwise engage in destructive or disruptive behaviour. Moderator decisions are final and not open to public debate. If a user disagree's with a moderators decision or actions the correct procedure is to make a formal complaint to another member of the moderator team or to a member of the Mixmeister Technology staff. Rule #2 - No offensive, abusive, destructive or racist posts Being that this message board is composed of many members who come from various locations in the world, we understand that there may be disagreements from time to time. However, whether we disagree on certain points or not, one thing is certain...We expect all members of this forum to treat one another with respect. This is not an arbitrary rulling. This means we will not tolerate posts of an Abusive, Demeaning, Combative or Inflammatory nature. Trolling, and calling people out to a "challenge" are also unacceptable in this community. We [Moderators] are charged with the responsibility of editing and/or deleting posts, and as such, if we find a post which attempts to circumvent this rule, we reserve the unrestricted right to edit or delete the offending material. If at any point you see a post that comes across as disrespectful or derogatory, we suggest you contact one of the Moderators, either in a Private Message or via E-mail. Please do not take matters into your own hands by engaging anyone in a disruptive argument. Rule #3 - No linking to copyrighted material MixMeister Technology has provided this forum and its users an outlet to air their mixes created with MixMeister products. In order to do this legally, MixMeister Technology pays for the licensing fees required in order to stream audio on Beatmixing.com. What does this mean to community members such as yourself?? It means you are not allowed to post direct links to downloads or music streams of copyrighted materials, including dj demo mixes, irrespective of which country the link is hosted in. The only exception is if you own the copyright to the materials. Any posts found violating this rule will be either edited or deleted as we [Moderators] deem necessary. Rule #4 - Post to correct forums In order to ensure that your post is viewed and answered in a prompt fashion, we would ask that you post threads in relevant forums only. If necessary, we [Moderators] will move your post to the relevant topic thread. In order to avoid this extra step, please read the descriptions before posting. If after doing so, you still are unsure of where to post, you may contact one of the Moderator Staff via Private Message or E-mail, and we'll kindly show you the way. Rule #5 - No file sharing Beatmixing.com does not condone illegal file sharing of music, software or other copyrighted data. Offers and/or requests to share files illegally or to provide the means to do so will be deleted. Rule #6 - Advertising/Solicitations are only allowed in the designated forum Beatmixing.com exists to connect MixMeister users from around the world, to help them develop their mixing skills and share their creations with the masses. Soliciting, recruiting, promoting, and advertisting is only allowed in the Advertisements, Promotions, and Services section under specific rules. This requirement applies to both public and private communication. Rule# 7 - No posts about circumventing DRM on tracks or how to rip Copyrighted DVDs This forum does not and cannot condone any kind of posts that advocate the circumvention of DRM software or any other copyright strategies, including how to rip videos from copyrighted DVDs. Although this is a user run forum, Mixmeister Technology© provides this website to it's users (free of charge) as a promotional tool for their program Mixmeister™, and therefore it would be unseemly for them to allow posts that show people how to violate copyright laws. A Warning to future posters, making posts divulging any kind of information on how to violate said copyright laws will automatically have your message(s) removed, and you may have your forum membership revoked at our discretion. We ask that all members of this forum respect this website and its parent company, Mixmeister Technology© This message has been edited. Last edited by: Theodore Remington Rooks*, |
