Hi,

Maybe somebody here can help me pleae?

I am using mmp5 and purely make mixes to burn to cd. Now, I have been experimenting with compressor effects, but just for short bursts on certain tracks. Is it possible to save these short effects on my mix to burn to cd?

I am sorry if I have missed an explanation of this somewhere else.

Thanks in advance, Pornodoll.

Hi pornodoll, and welcome to the forums.

Yes, any effects you add to your mix in Pro 5, even if they're only applied to a portion of a track, will be applied the same way when you burn your mix to CD. In other words, if you can hear it, you can record it.

Ok. Sorry. I must be really dumb. I seem to be doing something wrong.

1. I've highlighted a portion of the track.

2. From the edit menu, selected add global effects plugin.

3. Ok. Now when I right click on the effect to change the sound, my highlighted piece of track disapears and the effect is applied to the whole track.....doh!

Please help! what am I doing wrong. I bet it will be so simple when I find out.

Thanks again, pornodoll.

"global" means "the whole track" ... from the Edit menu, choose: Track>Add Track Effects Plug-in ... or simply select the part of the track you want to effect, right-click the selection, and choose: Add Track Effects Plug-in from the pop-up menu.

You were right, it IS simple once you know how Smile

Ok, thanks everyone for that. You were right madameFLY, it was simple ........ but, I now have one more question for you.

When I listen to the track, and it gets to the section which I selected for the effect (in this case 'chorus') the sound becomes muted. I have played with the settings within chorus, but have had no success.

I know I am being a pain, but some more help would be really appreciated. I can't help being dumb!

Thanks a lot everyone. Pornodoll.

I had the same problem w/ the basic effects in MM ... they mute the volume ... forcing you to manually boost the volume (using yr blue volume markers, use four to make a sort of bridge shape up and back down around the muted part.)

I think there are some 3rd party effects that do not produce this muting ... Ozone by Izotope is the bomb, IMHO ... other folks have recommended BlueLine plugins, and although they are officially discontinued, they are still available for download ... but I don't actually know if they produce the same muting. There are folks on the boards who use plugins more extensively than I do, maybe they will join the discussion and point you toward a solution.

thanks, last year was a bad time in my county, but I personally did not suffer terribly ... just lost some structural bits here and there. You know what they say: If money can fix it, it's not a problem Wink

They say this year will be lively, too. At least we are better prepared now ... we were in lala land before last August Roll Eyes

Yes stick w/ it ... adjusting the volume takes but a moment for each spot. At some point, you'll get plugins you like that don't require this ....
