Last month, I started a couple of new sets, just pulling some ideas together to come back to later ... I saved two of these nascent playlists into my SEP_05 folder.
Today, I couldn't open either one, couldn't even see them in the MM "Open File" dialog box. I went looking for them via Windows Explorer (which I have set to Details mode) and found both, but neither one had the ".mmp" file extension ... evidently because, when I saved the file, I named them "ABCdef" instead of "ABCdef.mmp". Well, I've never had to type that file extension before ... after all, the purpose of the field labeled "save as type" (which defaults to "MixMeister Playlist - includes mix info - .mmp") is just that: a default which will be applied unless you type / choose something else. BTW, while in Explorer, I tried the Rename option, to add the .mmp file extension after the fact, but no dice ... it doesn't create a readable file. However, if I save a playlist and type the file extension, all is well. So what's up here? Have I inadvertently changed something in XP that is hampering MM from doing its job of properly applying the default file extension? Or is MM having a hiccup? This may be a clue: I just checked Explorer's Tools>Folder Options>File Types and it only shows the orange MMP icon associated w/ MixMeister Pro (I have MMP5 installed on this machine along with MMP6/Studio). If I click the Change button, I see icons for both MMP and Studio. When I am using Studio, if I save my playlist with the ".mmp" extension added, the icon I see in Explorer is the gray Studio icon. What might be going on here? Inquiring minds want to know (especially inquiring minds who have lost two really really good playlists. This message has been edited. Owee that sucks, i think it's just when you saved the file the ext. was dropped. if other saves are associated MM then Xp is understanding it fine. Are you sure you renamed it properly? if you'd like email me them to me and i'll see if they open in mine, minus the tracks of course, if ti starts to open in mine then i start looking at XP (maybe)
