HEY ALL,
I've not seen posts on this subject.Good luck everyone

Traxsource.com launch Annual DJ Competition
November 10, 2006

Legal House Music Download Site Traxsource.com kick off their annual DJ competition for your chance to win amazing prizes and international radio exposure!

Following the immense response Traxsource received in their last DJ competition, this year’s round will be even bigger and better as they team up with MixMeister, Space-Tek, Mixed In Key and Streamsolutions.co.uk in the search for the most inspiring 1-hour mix.

Throughout November, the guys at the Traxsource headquarters will be lending their ears to every mix that comes in, which they will judge on the basis of track selection, creativity, uniqueness of style, programming and mixing ability.

From upfront dancefloor bombs to classic gems - everything goes. The key is to deliver a mix that stands out and is built to impress.

The winner will be awarded with a truly amazing package of prizes, including

• Their mix aired on Traxsource.com’s worldwide syndicated radio show on December 14th
• An exclusive interview on the show
• ‘Powered by Traxsource’ scab with their quote and picture on the site
• $100 Traxsource gift certificate
• 2 free standing Space-Tek CDJ stands (value $500)
• MixMeister Studio 7 (value $169)
• Mixed In Key software (value $59)
• 25 slot server plus 1 gig content delivery server for 3 months courtesy Streamsolutions.co.uk
(value $250+)

Without a doubt, this is one hell of a prize and may even be the start to a thriving career in DJing, so get in gear and chose your musical weapons wisely.

For full details on entry criteria, closing date, and how to submit the mix, please visit http://www.traxsource.com/index.php?act=page&page_id=26

Oooops ... I just noticed that the rules require submittal of a track listing in this format ONLY:

quote:
Once your mix is uploaded send us an email to: djcomp@traxsource.com with the:
The exact file name of your mix
Tracklisting in this format: "Artist - Title (remix) - Label"
Your name

I'm just guessing, but I'm pretty sure that well over half my digital crate has no reference to label ... it's not something I ever included when ripping CDs, and I'm pretty sure that emusic and other digital download services I've used do not provide it either (emusic says that the ID3 tag info they use comes from the label, they don't create their own.)

Some labels, like OM and Kriztal, when they do compilations, will use, e.g., "various artists OM Records" in the artist name field, but that is an exception, not the rule.

The typical fields that are populated in just about every mp3 file are Artist/Title/Album -- not label.

Am I the only one with this issue? How are you folks handling this?

I'll try it but I'll probably run the names thru early on ... no point putting the time in with tracks that I can't submit for lack of a label name.

BTW, does "white" qualify as a label ID?
