ive found some info on here i was looking for but just a couple of questions

1.) ive done a mix, very happy with it, but the volume on each track needs changing in wavegain or mp3gain, can i change the tracks in the root folder and mm will automatically update the tracks in my mix

2.) on the limiter i apply globally when its set on the default the music goes up and down in volume very noticeable, how do i get rid of this do i need to turn the db down

thanks

Hello Sambohack,
Answer for question 1:
I only have experiences with MP3Gain. I have does a scan before in the past with all my music after it was already programmed into MixMeister and I will say "YES", it did adjust my volumes after the fact.

Answer for question 2:
Below I have copied what I think was an email from a previous member of BeatMixing.com
I have been using it every since and I love it. (However this is only my opinion)

Email:
The Ozone one is difficult to get to grips with unless you spend lot's of time with it unfortunately.

Instead download the Kjaehus Classic Master Limiter ( http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/classic-master-limiter.php ), install it into your Mixmeister folder within program files and then restart MixMeister.

Open the Effects library and you should automatically see it in there, click and drag it into the timeline at a point where there are no tunes.

Don’t bother to adjust the controls on the limiter, leave it at its default.

When you play your mix back you'll now notice (look at the VU meters) that it limits the sound to -0.2.

It also boosts any quieter tunes, as well as adding a fully rounded sound to the Mix.

I now use this on all my mixes, and if I listen to CD's produced before I had it, they sound totally flat in comparison! Please let me know if this works for you Sambohack.

hi banter

thats the limiter i have got and when i set it at the default, the track goes loud in some parts i.e the breakdown then low volume when the drum kicks in, is this possible ive got the settings wrong on ozone maybe

im using the izone just to do alittle eq on each track just a touch, i mite do as you said and just get rid of it and apply the limiter, mite be easier, im using master wavs for the mix so no need tot really eq that much

thanks sam

Well I am going to encourage you to temporarily switch or at least sample the Kjaehus Classic Master Limiter. You will notice the difference right away!
I do not use the one that came with MixMeister because I had all the problems you explained.

Give it a shot. If you do not like it than you can always go back.
However, do let me know how you like it Sambohack.

Just a footnote: there is nothing wrong with MixMeister for me to change my Limiter. The sound I hear is different than someone else’s so I needed to accommodate my ears.

got this sorted now and it sounds quality much like a proper bought cd

1.) Put a little eq on each track (kjaerhus audio classic eq)

2.) Put a little compression on each track (kjaerhus audio classic compression) fast attck, fast release, threshold to abut 8db, 2-1 ratio and a soft knee

3.) kjaerhus audio classic master limiter) on the whole mix glovbally

lot of trial and error here but sounds good with no distortion and equal sound throughout the mix

the eq is just done by ear depends what music your mixing and each individual track
