Wow, someone was looking for an editing program recently and I found a really good one FOR FREE!
The program is called Audacity and is much better than any other free music editor I have ever used. The wonderful part is that if you install a second program that works with Audacity, you will then be able to save the song as an mp3. And yes, you will also have full control of the song to use it as you wish once you are done and as long as you save it through the second program.. Audacity download: http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?group_id...dacity-win-1.2.6.zip Second program is called LAME or LAME MP3 encoder. I found the following instructions online to help installation. 1st I suggest you all create one folder on your desktop and call it "editing software" or something to that effect. 2nd, put these programs and their zip files together in the folder. Directions and link to LAME: How do I download and install the LAME MP3 encoder? Because of software patents, we cannot distribute MP3 encoding software ourselves. Follow these instructions to use the free LAME encoder to export MP3 files with Audacity. Windows 1. Go to the LAME download page: http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/ 2. Under "For Audacity on Windows", left-click on the link "libmp3lame-win-3.97.zip" and save the zip folder to anywhere on your computer. 3. When you have finished downloading the ZIP folder, unzip it and save the file lame_enc.dll that it contains to anywhere on your computer. 4. The first time you use the "Export as MP3" command, Audacity will ask you where lame_enc.dll is saved. 5. In case of difficulty, please view our more detailed instructions on the Audacity Wiki. Mac OS 9 or X 1. Go to the LAME download page: http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/ 2. Download either libmp3lame or the version of LameLib for your operating system. 3. When you have finished downloading, use Stuffit Expander to extract the files. (This may happen automatically.) 4. Save the file called "LameLib" or libmp3lame.dylib anywhere on your computer. 5. The first time you use the "Export as MP3" command, Audacity will ask you where LameLib or libmp3lame.dylib is saved. I hope this works for at least one person! Banter This message has been edited.
