Dec. 21st, longest night of the year ... and then, just as inexorably as they shortened, the days begin to lengthen again, the people take heart in the darkness and ... long story short, pretty soon you're celebrating Christmas.
 And that, of course, means Christmas music. And so here's your downtempo serving of seasonal songs, most drawn from 2003's holiday compilations from the OM label, from BasicLUX and from Yuji Ohno Trio's 2004 Christmas set. There's a balance of classic tunes and new compositions, christmas music sacred and profane, from Organic Grooves, Adiemus, Kaskade, saxophonist Jan Garbarek and the Hilliard Ensemble ..... as well as the aforementioned Yuji Ohno jazz trio. Because so much of this set relied on acoustic jazz performances, I decided to remake it in Studio 7.1.1 and take advantage of the improved sound rendering ...
