September brings a new mix from the 80s Radio series I've been having fun with this summer: Save Your Tears ...

While talking to a friend over the weekend, conversation strayed to past relationships -- the positive results as well as the regrets over their endings.... When I turned my attention back to this mix, I realized this was the 80s break-up set ... providentially, I had already entitled it Save Your Tears.... I think you'll agree -- this is territory we've all spent time in ... maybe you got lucky and only visited once ... but I know you know .... So let this mix be your guilty pleasure, a way to revisit some of that emotion we've all felt over the end of the affair ... after all, deep emotion is the BeatConscious stock in trade....

The additional reward for spending your 75 mins here will be (re)acquainting yourself with some sublime tunage from Paul Young, Tina Turner, John Martyn, Yaz, Erasure, Cyndi Lauper, Roxy Music, UB40, Pretenders, Talking Heads, the Eurythmics and others.

BTW, note that this music all falls in the "20 years old" category, which means that it pre-dates the horrible audio quality of modern music -- something that has been so much in the news lately ((see this Forum thread) ... so I'll suggest that you turn it up, or better still, listen under headphones if you can, in order to appreciate the really stellar audio dynamics of these tracks -- in particular, the Paul Young tracks, Joan Armatrading, Eurythmics, Roxy Music and Tina Turner. There are some moments here capable of producing shivers, trust me
