Though I have a virtual pile of new promos awaiting my attention, as well as a couple of tag team ventures that are equally worthy of my efforts, somehow I wound up turning to work with some older tracks ... thinking perhaps these could sound new again....
Included are a couple of triphop classics ... opening tracks from Portishead and DJ Shadow establish the tone and this vibe resurfaces later in the set with the K&D remix of David Holmes' Gone.... If you're in a jazzier mood, listen for a couple of tracks from Ki-Oku, the 2004 collaboration between DJ Krush and Toshinori Kondo on trumpet ... sweetness for your ears. More goodies from Enigma, The Eurythmics, Four Tet, Lewis Taylor, DJ Cam, Tosca and Jon Kennedy. Imagine by Fortunato & Montresor closes out the set.... Let me draw your attention to the segue from Gamblers' Delight, (Marcel's 2005 release on Cookin Records) into Crazy, the 2006 Gnarls Barkley release that picked up a Grammy the other night for Best Alternative Album ... it's a transition that might pass nearly unnoticed but that's less a tribute to the mixer's skills than the fact that these two songs sound like exactly the same track The set clocks in at just 61 mins.... but the pleasure lasts for hours I got something for your mind, your body and your soul. |

That's one beautiful track ... as a matter of fact, it's my favourite of the Ki-Oku album. On that note, Ki-Oku was released in the beginning of 1993 ... well, at least that's when I bought it. free your ears and your mind will follow... |

Hey, thanks for that info ... I think I got this album from emusic.com, and I have noticed that their ID3 tags are not always the best info ... when I contacted emusic tech support, they said they rely on the labels for appropriate tag info ... but I'll double-check all this once I have the computers at home re-connected .... I got something for your mind, your body and your soul. |

I have noticed the same thing with some of the tracks offered on emusic. I always thought that emusic uses the date of release on emusic.com ... free your ears and your mind will follow... |

looks like we're all in the same boat when it comes to emusic lack of correct tags. i have purchased quite a bit from them and have also noticed some errors. as far as this set goes... DJ now on-air: MadameFLY Mix Name: New Again Current Track: You could ruin my day Current Artist: Four Tet Time into Mix: 00:21:04 # Listeners: 1 that is one lovely track. his hair must be the reason behind his wonderful music. |
