I uploaded a new mix. It's some strange stuff, and I've never mixed stuff like this before. It's sort of New Age/Electronica/Ambient. This is only my third mix for MM radio (first on BeatConscious), but when I mixed vinyl (not professionally) it was always much more standard dance oriented stuff.
I've wanted to play with this kind of stuff for awhile now. The fact this is my first mix of this kind of music may be painfully apparent. Discerning listeners might notice in some of the mixes later in the tape, there are some fade overs where the songs don't seem to be harmonically matched, and that is true. But to me because the songs are sort of dreamy and spacey, the transitions sound sort of spacey rather than discordant. But that's just me, and I may be a permanent space case anyway, so what do I know??? Anyway, I hope it's interesting at best, and not too annoying at worst. Steven |

I finally got to hear a bit of this mix, though only the last quarter-hour or so....
I didn't get to grab any song titles, but I did hear one little bit of that harmonic dissonance you mentioned ... it passed quickly and wasn't enough to wreck the transition, but for my personal taste, I'd say it's good to get harmonic matches even with the spacey stuff ... I think it's more likely you can get away with transitioning between two widely different BPMs in ambient (using standard mixing instead of beat-matching, for instance) than you can w/ a harmonic mismatch ... But OTOH, what do I know ... I didn't even hear most of the mix I liked the use of older tracks and I'll be back to catch all (or at least more) of this one another time ... I got something for your mind, your body and your soul. |

Only missed the first five minutes this time! Excellent flow throughout and this time I really didn't notice the bit of dissonance mentioned above ... altogether a fine mix, lots of stuff I didn't recognize but would like to hear again.

DJ Mojito - All-round DJ![]() Location: Germany in Soest. It´s a little town with old churches, a picturesque old town, many homelike pubs, but also discos and shopping centers. Countrified ambience. It´s a good mix - I love it!

Hi!
I have heard this one often. It´s a fine mix. Cuddly songs, fantastic band - songs and wonderful silent tracks are rotate. Fantastic! It´s a pity that the silent downtemto grooves are not heard so often like the hard ones such as trance, house and the other ones. Great, great, great choice of music!!! I love this one!! Best regards, Holger. |
