2008 kicked off with MoonDrop, the independent music set ... but at the time I worked on that, I couldn't find a slot for one of my favorite tunes, Just a Girl from the good people at ViceLounge ... I realized that one would have to be the basis for an entirely new set. What resulted is a new Quiet Storm style set, Terms & Conditions....

Except for the ViceLounge track and another one from The Warheads, this has little in the way of indie roots but instead ranges over a selection of R&B-flavored tracks new and old ... and when I say "old" I mean Memphis Minnie who leads the set with a 1920's blues song for our time: "Nothing in Rambling".

Additionally, you'll hear tracks from De-Phazz, Remy Shand, Monte La Rue, Groove Theory, Praful, dZihan & Kamien and Mark Rae ... there's also the Stryke rework of Ain't No Sunshine as well as a house version of Candi Staton's soul gospel shouter, You've Got the Love, from The Source.

As is often the case, the mixing is about clever connections rather than long beat-matched passages ...

Oh, I guess, since this is February, this must be the Valentine's Day mix Wink

Comments welcome....
