This set picks up its title from the mix technique, which found me starting at the finish line and working backwards.... I started out knowing I wanted to work with Roxy Music's "Over You" and Jugoe's "Devil Woman" and it soon became clear those two would be the peak moment of the mix ... there was no question, of course, that Budha Building's "Slowest possible groove" (from the Kahvi Collective) would be anything but the closing track ....

As always, there's a liberal use of classics and others from the dusty back-end of the crate: the Roxy Music track from 1980 has the distinction of being the oldest recording; among the other favorites from years past are tunes from Projections, Jon Kennedy, Bullitnuts, Sofa Surfers, the Funky Lowlives and Silent Poets (yep, that's "Sugar Man" again.) I still feel like the group Projections are the funkiest people alive, and "Hld Mi Hnd" is the track that nails it.

Newer releases include material from Tokyo Dawn artist Comfort Fit, and Jugoe's mad crazy rework of the Marty Robbins chestnut "Devil Woman" -- here's where the oldest and the newest come together, on Jugoe's indie release, the Rust Belt ep.

Stick around, you'll also hear Roy Davis, Jr., Lemongrass, and DJ Krush with Zap Mama on the vocals ... a little something for everyone.

Mmmmmm,

That's just got me thinking....

'Back to the beginning Tag Teams'!!

Someone submits the last track in a mix then the other(s) select the previous track Big Grin

What do you all reckon??

I'd be up for it...

might want to move this concept over to the tagteam thread and see if there are any takers ... now i've gotten my practice set done, i'd join in if the idea got some interest....

so do i as regards soundcard, right pain that Mad, and just my luck, still my trusty zen Big Grinis here to provide me with sound.

i've done a few duff a roonys aswell, played one yesterday, and there's a mammoth 4 min gap of silence, grrrr, that would have gone down well in the local discotech. Frown
homewise things are near completion, as in tonight i should be back net wise, only the fossil fire thing left to do Big Grin
