The question was of utmost importance: Had we already plundered everything worth hearing off our modest collection of holiday remix discs?

Buster and I were ready to plunge into a second tagteam Xmas mix, but it seemed we'd probably need to make our peace with the occasional repeat track in order to add another hour's mix to the BeatConscious Christmas extravaganza. With that in mind, we started the second set in mid-November ...

As it happens, very little repetition was required (though of course we doubled-down on a track or two within the mix.) You'll hear seasonal songs from Patti LaBelle, Bent remixing Bing Crosby, Rithma, Ursula 1000 remixing Julie London, Jon Kennedy, Sub Santa, Billy Paul Williams, Low, DJ Trax, and Whitney Houston closing it out.

Special thanks to Buster (Seppuku) for figuring out what to do with that Low track ... I was really stumped on how to work an alt-rocker into a downtempo mix, but with my tagteam partner's looping skills, we got it done ... I hope I've learned a bit about looping now, though I expect my technique will improve with practice.

When we were planning our tagteam campaign, I had the idea All Lit Up would be the party mix and this one would be the after-party set ... but in fact, Deckin' the Downtempo is still solidly a party vibe ... for that quiet time mix, you'll have to wait until next weekend when Spiritus FLY joins the stream.
