Finally I am getting to hear this mix (I'm not sure where in the mix I am: beginning, middle or end, but it's playing...)
[I'm listening at work in mild defiance of the music ban because I came in today and found they are permitting a scented candle to be burning near the reception desk that we all have to walk past on our way to anywhere ... seems hard to justify a music ban (because it might disturb people who didn't request to hear music) when you're going to stink up the place with a scented candle....]
Anyhow, Monkey: I'm loving this mix so far ... thanks for your contribution to the show!

I wouldn't normally consider the downtempo stuff to be my forte but I really enjoyed putting this mix together. It gave me a chance to revisit some of my absolute favourite cuts, many of which didn't make it into the final mix so there may be a sequel in the near future.

Thanks Jet, glad you like it. It's particularly nice to get such positive feedback from such well respected members of the community (MadameFLY, TF and yourself).
As I mentioned earlier in the thread there should be a sequel in the near future as I simply couldn't fit all the great tunes that I fished out for this mix into 1 hour.
As you liked particularly liked the last 20 minutes you will be pleased to hear that most of the tunes that were left over go further down the Dubby/Ambient route.
However, before I put that together I have a couple of trance sets that I am finishing off, and I have this childish desire to put together a real "rudeboy" set to give the subwoofer in my new motor a workout (you know the sort of thing, drum n bass with special emphasis on the bass...not sure if this will make it onto MMRadio as its likely to be a bit self indulgent but I'll see how it turns out). With that in mind it may be a few weeks before I revisit the downtempo.

Self indulgent---nah, we all fall more in the category TF mentioned! Based upon your subwoofer comments, I'd say your real motive is a dreamy introspective "get away!" I can relate. The music, the car, the long drive, away from the family! "Oh yeah!", roll through the gears around a couple of curves for me, will yah. ---JET |

The long drive is good Jet, but to be honest my real motives are much less romantic... Sunny day, black CLK, roof down, red leather interior, 20 MPH crawl through town with the engine pu-uurrring, big old basslines just to make sure that everyone catches my cheesy grin  As my brother put it "you can act like as big a prat as you like in this car and still feel like a gangsta" I'm probably getting too old to be behaving like this |

I used to get this all the time with Goa trance. Not sure why but I always thought my phone was going during Green Nuns "Ring of Fire" So TF, being one of the Etch-A-Sketch generation - do your mates still phone you after 1 am, 'cos mine don't |
