Well, hey I actually got to hear this one ...
Starting out, it appears that Seppuku (or Buster, as the case may be) is working in the tradition ... a tradition I'm going to start calling: Whitewater mixing. You know how it is ... the tracks themselves are like those long slow stretches of the river where you can lie on your back and look up at the sky while you trail your fingers in the water.... but then come the rapids -- the transitions -- where you hang on to the sides of the boat and hope you won't capsize ... soon enough, you're back in the slow flat river water again, feeling exhilarated that you made it through... Me, I was loving it. And, of course, not all the transitions are of the Whitewater type ... many were lovely smooth glides like the move into International Times, that second Transglobal Underground track. The transition into Les Nuits might be considered for a slight reposition, but in general this is one smooth sweet set with an exceptionally nice track list (I always feel like that when I already know about half the tracks ....) So, welcome aboard Seppuku, and just holla when you've got a new one for us. I got something for your mind, your body and your soul. |

I absolutely agree with MadameFly - Talk to me sweetly is outrageously strong in terms of track listing! Lots of dubby/spacey/spherical quality yet also driving/leading beats. Trip Hop in the best sense of the word And as if that wasn't enough, there's splendid transitions, too (well, we are here for the BeatMixing, aren't we?). I can honestly say that, all the way through, the flow of Talk to me sweetly kept me curious about the next track and how it would be introduced ... and it had me smile a lot Best Moto free your ears and your mind will follow... |

man I would love to work on some mixes right now but my laptop is freakin infected with something that I must have collected through B.S. friend requests on myspace, and bogus emails. So people keep an eye out on your myspace on questionable requests.
But hopfully if I can get a hold of my best friend we can fix it instead of doing the dreaded trashing everything and starting from square one. Meaning that I will loose about 75% of my mp3 and wav files. but before I do that I'm gonna try to transfer them to this computer that I'm on and do some heavy duty scaning on them to make sure they are clean. Just wanted to post this to let you guys know whats going on over here. |
